| Tungsten T3 - Battery in the Slider I don't know whether anyone has tried doing this, so I'll suggest it:
Many people think that T3 is a great PDA and I absolutely agree, but many of us also think that its battery is too weak for pleasant usage.
Although many people have managed to put more powerful batteries into their T3s, and some have even expanded the battery to the stylus silo, I have another, perhaps even more radical suggestion:
Why don't we put another battery in the slider and connec it with the original one?
Well, that way, we would lose the slider, but would get extreme battery life, because, as far as I can see, there is a lot of place inside.
Has anyone tried that?
Also, would it be possible to somehow add more memory that way, for example put a SD card in the slider and connect it to the motherboard directly?
Please tell me what do you think about the idea!

| Hi hgradeca,
I have seen this done in the past. I believe I read about it somewhere over in the Brighthand Forums. I myself have replaced the 900mah battery that came with my T3 with a 1350mah battery. I did have to cut into the stylist area a little, but I can still use the stylist slot. The 1350mah also is small enough to allow the slider to operate correctly. The increased battery life is incredible! I too agree that the T3 is one of the best Palm's ever invented. I also have a Wifi card and with this combination see no reason to upgrade to a Tx. I don't believe we will ever see a better Palm than the T3, so I intend on keeping mine running for as long as it's willing.
All the best! |

| I would love to add another sd card slot to my T3 but does anyone have the schematics to do such an operation and would the os even recognize the extra cardspace? |

Sorry, I didn't find your thread! Hope you're not angry because I suggested the same thing.
Could you please post a link, so that I see what people said about the Idea?
@PalmSole
I have read somewhere that someone tried to add an Internal wifi card, I think that I have read it here somewhere: http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=236731
Hope it helps!
And regarding this with battery, I think that I'll first try to prolong the battery life with Fullpower, but after it makes me angry enough, I think that I'll add another one!
They should be connected in parallel and in theory, that should work. But before I do any such modification, I'll talk to someone who has better technical knowledge than I have!

well, now that I've read your post, I see that we have a slightly different ideas!
You suggested that we simply put a new, bigger battery in the T3. It could definitively be accomplished, but I'd prefer not to cut the bottom part of the Pda, in case I want to restore it to the original state somewhere in the future... Instead, I would just put in another battery, which could probably fill the empty space of the slider better, since it could be thicker, and then I'd connect the two batteries in parallel.
But even if I'm going to do it, I'd probably wait until Christmas and then see what could be done!
And regarding the case - open T3 barely fits in the LifeDrive's leather case, just tried it today! Although it is definitively too thin to stay firm in place...
