| Anyone tried the SA10 with TJ27. . .? Okay, so I'm trying to figure out what the heck Sony was thinking when they decided the tj27 would be either an upgrade to the tj25 or a downgrade to the tj37.
The lack of audio capabilities is most interesting. However, Sony solved that problem on MUCH lesser handhelds like the SJ and early T-series by coming up with the SA10 Audio Adapter that plugs into the bottom and gives you remote control of audio functions.
I know that some of you have scoffed at this idea, telling me that the '27 does not have an audio chip or the built-in headphone jack or stereo-quality speaker, but hasn't SOMEBODY tried using the SA10? I'm quite sure the early SJ and T-series didn't have a sound chip did they? If we're getting technical like that, does a PDA actually have to have a 'sound chip' to play mp3's? And the '27 has 6x the processing power of those OS4.1 machines, not to mention OS5.
Seems like it would work!

Thanks for the encouragement, DG. . .
I went by my local Fry's Electronics to see if they still had the SA10 that was there my previous visits, but no luck. Anyone else?

| hypotheticly: you could decode a mp3 or whatever plain wav and send it outside through the usb lines in th econnector. what you would need is a piece od hardware that will do the rest: d/a changer and amplifier. that would be a sound chip. if you find or write software that is capable to redirect the output for ma nay audio player to that SA10 adapter, then i dont see a reson why it shouldnt work. but imo it would be much easier to find and solder in the missing parts |
