for more info. I have figured out how to still be able to launch the camera app without physically moving the slider out by using some other programs to access it. And, of course, with the camera stuck permanently open, the cable won't be further damaged by more bending. And, if you have other 3rd party programs like Zire/Palm Movie Maker, you can still use it since it's the same as if you opened the slider to access the camera.
