:D I'm very fast!!!

You have to move "English Language Pack", "Help Pages", "Picsel Viewer Core" and "Picsel Viewer". Leave "User Data" on the RAM because PICSEL put the bookmarks there...

IŽd like have the Picsel Viewer mine email is rafaelnp@ncs.es.

I don't get it.  How are people finding Picsel useful?  On my NX60, the text in documents are so small I can't comfortably read them.  Sure, I can see the layout fine but what good is that if I can't read the text?  I've played with the zoom feature and that helps, but then scrolling all over my screen to read a full sentence, and straining while the text comes into focus. Admittedly, the landscape feature is cool.  There's lot's of "wow" factor in Picsel.

Asa Macintosh user,  viewing documents in native format is very helpful, but as usual there are few choices; Repligo is very good but conversion is PC only and Quickoffice doesn't seem to have all the bugs worked out.

Please help me understand what people are using this application for such that all this excitement has occurred.

SOME people have to have every new thing down the pike and have panic attacks if they can't get their hands on it.

Could be you aren't one of them?

I agree with you 100%. Picsel looks incredible and some of it's features are cool, but the other apps are more functional for the reasons you've described. Of course, only a month ago, there weren't other options.

From the "About Picsel Viewer" box:

This product includes software developed by the Apache Group for use in the Apache HTTP server project (www.apache.org)

WTF??????

what apache technology could be included in picsel viewer?

mdicembre 03-28-2003 07:56 PM

While I agree that Picsel Viewer does have a lot of wow factor, I'm not sure how useful it is? Apparently there is no ability to edit anything you are viewing. I do find it enjoyable, however, to view documents in there native format and layout.

It's one more tool in a clie's bag of tricks :)!

Now, if for some reason you have to view an unconvereted document on your clie, now you can! Makes perfect sense to me, besides, I paid good money for this app! I purchased PowerRun so I could use it...

Thanks!

Some objected to the Statue that was superimposed on it. Someone else was kind enough to send a replacement flag as a gift. I have to send them a thank you note :)!

For example, you can do a right-click in IE and choose to clip a web page to the Palm, but it doesn't maintain it's layout. RepliGo does maintain it's layout, plus it has a Text Flow option on the handheld, so you can also read it easier without any need for constant panning. Best of both worlds. If RepliGo had scheduled clipping ability, I would get rid of Handstory altogether.

Is there any place i can put except in the launcher location? I find it a little slow when starting.

If there a function that allow user to auto update in the PC everyday for the specific webclips and as well as update it while you are on the road just like handstory?

If not, this is just consider another isilo program with overall view the most. I do not need the overall viewing as i got overall viewing in native support from picsel viewer.

Pls advise. Thanks.

Correction, i mean the place is refering to MS memory.

No, it has to go in the Launcher folder. I thought someone else requested this to and the RepliGo developers said maybe in a future version.

No, that's what I was wishing for in my earlier post that you quoted. They also said this might be something that it has in the future.

If you are talking about RepliGo documents when referencing the Launcher folder, then there is an alternative. You can specify a custom memory card folder in the Preferences screen and put documents anywhere you want.

Could someone please post a zipped copy of the picsel viewer again :)

For the life of me I can NOT get the TG version to run with PowerRun on my NX. Actually I had a ***** of a time getting the NZ version to even work. What I had to do was put the files on my MS, copy them over with McFile and run it once, then run PowerRun and have it update shortcuts and whammo, it would properly copy the files from the MS, run it, and remove the files from memory when done. Trying this method with the TG files leaves me with duplicates of all four files on the MS and the ones on the internal memory don't go away.

My problem with the TG version is that while I can run it off the internal memory flawlessly, it refuses to work with PowerRun and craps out on the main file after only copying 84bytes every time. I have 7MB free and the NZ version works fine so this is just baffling. Sure the NZ version is good (1.0.4), but I'd rather use the newer TG version (1.0.6).

So I guess what I'm saying is, does anyone know why this is such a p.i.t.a. and can anyone tell me what changed from version 1.0.4 to 1.0.6?

PDActu 04-05-2003 05:31 AM

Hello,
I have installed all the Picsel files (on my NX) with PowerRun but I have always black blocks in Picsel. I have made a hard reset but I have still the problem... :(
Look at the Attached file...

Thanks a lot for your help !
Bye,

mdicembre 04-05-2003 06:14 AM

What is the difference between the TG and the NZ Version? I had assumed NZ was for the Clie and TG was for the Tungsten. The NZ version has been operating flawlessly on ny NX70V with Powerun.

Likewise, not onlt that it worked loke a charm from day1.

I used the NZ version on my NX. All I did was manually create a power run picsel folder on my MS, copy the files via MS Import to the new folder and tappped on update shortcuts inside power run, and bingo, no resets, no nothing, worked fine!

n2ifp 04-05-2003 06:35 AM

PDAtuc,

Did you use the NX version of Picsel? Did you manually copy all 5 files to a manually created "/Palm/Programs/PowerRUN/Picsel"_ folder? Then tap on update short cuts inside power run?

I have all updates done on my clie, it's obvious that it's a display problem.

Picsel should work fine on the USA versions, I don't know about a UK version. I have no idea either what the TG version is for.

My only other suggestion is to try it with NOTHING else loaded or installed.

Does someone have a solution ?
Thanks

n2ifp 04-05-2003 06:55 AM

Okay :)!

n2ifp 04-05-2003 07:52 AM

Did you use the same file as your friend used?

Do you have all the 5 NZ files?

Unless someting is corrupted, I am stumped

akfreas 04-05-2003 11:01 AM

I got Piscel viewer to work perfectly with Powerrun. Dowload it @ palmgear. It rocks.

mdicembre 04-05-2003 11:56 AM

PDActu,

I have to parrot the comments of n2ifp, however, the one difference is that after installing as he described I did a soft reset. After that, picsel has performed wonderfully. Before the soft reset I couldn't get the program to open. Not sure why, but since then no difficulties.

Has anybody had any problem with Picsel viewer changing the layout of a document. I have a three column document in landscape road that picsel viewer will only show two columns on a page.

Please someone email me the zip file I'm dying on the vine. :)
