I will post a link tonight for whoever does not have it.

The directions listed above are the correct way of doing the install. I would recomend just using powerrun and keeping the files on MS. Make sure you create a directory as staed above using ms import then move the files (4 of them) to that directory. Goto powerrun and select Picsel and you should be up and running.

Badandy 03-26-2003 12:19 PM

but i still want this program!

intruder 03-26-2003 12:24 PM

Badandy 03-26-2003 12:26 PM

I used the NZ file set and copied them onto the MS in /PALM/Programs/PowerRun/Picsel using MSImport and the Windows File Explorer. After updating the shortcuts in PowerRun 1.2, I an icon to click on and everything worked fine.

PowerRun tells me that I have 4.3M of RAM free, so I've got plenty of room for it to copy the files into RAM to run. ragermac, do you have a couple of meg of RAM free? Looks like PicselViewer needs at least 1.9M of space to be copied into ...

Badandy 03-26-2003 12:32 PM

yay! Landscape mode works great!

I am so excited. thanx a lot

cerberus 03-26-2003 12:37 PM

This is one awesome app! Thanks for the files and instructions!:) ;)

mdharris 03-26-2003 12:45 PM

Here is another link....

[link removed]

Following instructions stated earlier.

Badandy 03-26-2003 01:12 PM

Thanks a lot.

qurgh 03-26-2003 01:14 PM

OK, I downloaded and install the files into the powerun dir as per the instructions. It runs fine but all the letters are little black blocks. No proper characters at all. Even when I zoom all the way in and try other documents as well.

Ok, fixed the above problem with a nice friendly hard reset...

Oh well.

skccs 03-26-2003 01:46 PM

Me too, I waited long for that application. I just downloaded from the second link off mdharris. Thank's a lot.

Now I wonder about the strange %20 within the file names of the NX-Version. Does my German-Winzip fail to retranslate them to blanks or do they have to stay like that when I install them?

Does the TG-Version too work for the full-screen of the NX? Which Version did you install successfully?

Greetings from Switzerland, Christian.

PS: As my cradle is in the office I have to wait until my wife get's back with her palm and I will be able to use her msimport on her palm on our home-desktop-pc with my memorystick ;-) Just can't wait. It's like the evening before christmas when I was a child.

ragermac 03-26-2003 01:59 PM

well it doesnt work for me. I get a stupid memory error and yes i followed the instructions carefully. plus i have 5908k internal.

what am i doing wrong??

pixelated 03-26-2003 03:02 PM

I don't know, are you trying to say it's not? If it's illegal, I'll get rid of it right away!

OcellNuri 03-26-2003 03:55 PM

I'm getting the memory error when trying to load it with PowerRUN. When I load the files into RAM, I get the white screen and then I'm kicked back to my launcher. I followed the instructions... and then tried a few of my own methods. I guess I'll give a hard reset / restore a try.

OcellNuri 03-26-2003 04:02 PM

That did the trick! I like this app!

I would say that it isn't.

We have removed the working links on this thread. If you would like to share the said app amongst yourselves, please do it offline.

Thanks.

About beeing legal

Well this is a good question. If I want to buy a application but it is not sold and only distributet with newer palm-modells. Does sony think, I buy a new pda every 3 months? Is my NX70V already overaged? Can't I get actual software running on it (imagine that policy with a desktop-pc??)

About the installation

I too get the message when starting with powerrun but I don't have the latest version. It is the first beta for palm os 5. I now there are newer versions out. Which version did you use mdharris? Coping the files from the powerrun folder to RAM lets work the application fine even are they copied back from powerrun to the folder when leaving the app. I tried the NZ Version (had to rename all the %20 to blanks) and will now try the TG Version too.

intruder 03-26-2003 04:27 PM

I have the .zip file if anyone wants it... pm me so I can send e-mail it to you...

Carlos

n2ifp 03-26-2003 04:37 PM

Yeah, I looked around, I don't understand why it can't be purchased. I would really like to check out the Picsel Browser if it's HiRes+.

Picsel, is that a French company?

mdharris 03-26-2003 04:43 PM

By all means this is not illegal... But that I guess is up to the moderators to establish that. Anyways to everyone who PMd me I am running out the door and will send you a reply when I get home. Sorry for the delay....... :)

I was just having some fun... Thanks again!

hansschmucker 03-26-2003 05:15 PM

Sorry, to answer so late, but my ISP was down... I'm back on-line now, but can't get the ZIP, as the file was deleted. If somebody would upload it to my place, it could stay there forever (although at limited speed)

For upload instructions, look at my post on the first page.

thanx =)

hmmm.... Do you believe in liberty? i.e. Freedom of speech? Why arent't we allowed to say that we think that what Bush is doing is wrong? Why do you want to punish us for that? Or why shouldn't I get political on Cliesource? Am I the only one who believes in freedom of speech. Oh this has become such a downer =(

NXOwner 03-26-2003 05:23 PM

How can it be illegal if one can't find it anywhere to be purchased from? Yeah, buy NZ90 or TG50 to get the Picsel Viewer! Sigh!Commercialize it, put a price and make a trial version available, then let's talk about legality of being able to run it on an NX model!

But yeah, don't post it here at Cliesource.com, host it somewhere that anybody can download it from or better, if someone ask, enail-attach the zip file needed. Email me at NXOwner@picselforNZandTG50only.com! Hehe :)

hansschmucker 03-26-2003 05:25 PM

It is clearly illegal, but by my moral standards it's OK, since I WILL buy a new sonydevice when something really new pops up (like OS6), and thereby pay for it later...

Badandy 03-26-2003 05:25 PM

OceelNurri- That is EXACTLY what I did. It put me back to the launcher. So I gave it a hard reset/restore and it loaded perfectly. This is a great app, and I am glad that its on my NX>

ragermac 03-26-2003 05:27 PM

wow, got it to work!

wow. i might have to get rid of repligo. but i prb. wont.

JesseNYC 03-26-2003 06:22 PM

Would someone be so kind and send it to me?

Thanks!

jesse@jrandall.com

Badandy 03-26-2003 06:28 PM

Sent in two messages. Enjoy!

Badandy 03-26-2003 06:29 PM

Remember to follow the directions previousley stated. Let me know if they came through all right

diamondnx70v 03-26-2003 06:29 PM

Intruder,

I have PM you with my email address.

Hope to get the zip file soon !

hansschmucker 03-26-2003 06:36 PM

Uploading it would be better then mailing it to every single user who wants it I guess, and since it seems to bother people so much to go to the first page:

Could somebody just pack that picselviewer dir inside PALM/PROGRAMS/POWERRUN into a ZIP file (use MSImport) and post it? I would love to try that thing?

You could upload it to ftp://hansschmucker.no-ip.biz/upload
Username: Anonymous
Password: email@inter.net

If you're not familiar with FTP's you can use the Windows built in FTP tool:

Click on Start/Run and enter FTP. Press Enter
Type in (without quotes) "open hansschmucker.no-ip.biz" >Enter<
The server will ask fo a user name. Enter "Anonymous".
It will then ask for a password. Enter a valid email adress like "email@inter.net"

Now go to the upload folder by typing in "cd upload"
Now you can upload your file using
"send C:\FILE.ZIP" (enter your filename instead). After the upload you will get a confirmation.
Now, just type "quit" to exit the programm.

I will then make it available at http://hansschmucker.no-ip.biz/Clie/PicselforNX

(edit. It should have said open, not host. Fixed that)

patrickl 03-26-2003 06:43 PM

I don't have a clue as to how it got this to finally work, but I did. (There was a Hard Reset in there somewhere , but after that it still didn't work)

This is probably the best "Webbrowser" (or Webviewer might be a better name) available. It can show Netfront saved pages (or mht files from IE) exactly as they are supposed to be seen.... and ..... in landscape!

Does anyone have a manual available though?

CosmicBlend 03-26-2003 06:58 PM

Where can i get the files at.. if someone can give them to me i would be more than happy to host them.

TheUltimate 03-26-2003 06:59 PM

Can someone send me the zip file to

hteasthope@yahoo.com

ragermac 03-26-2003 07:03 PM

How do you zoom??

All i can do it move the document around.
