Battery Test Application Hi, I just got back my UX from Sony Repair and found a new application installed with it called "Battery Test". I was planning to upload it to the Freeware section of 1src.com but would like to know if it is OK to the moderators and to all of you out there. It has a small footprint, only 29k. Y axis represents Volts (3.4 to 4.4). X axis represents minutes in increments of 15. It has the following menu: *****Open Log... *****Close Logs *****Legend... *****Test Results... *****Clear Graph *****About Battery Test... ******************Battery Test ******************Battery Life Testing ******************Version 1.0 I checked Freeware.com, Handango.com, and Palmgear.com; but did not find it in those 3 sites, so I am assuming it is an application created by Sony Repair for testing out the battery. I also tried it on my TH55 and it works fine. It might work for older CLIES too. So please let me know if it is OK to upload it on the Freeware section. :) |
Either way, I'd love to try it as soon as possible (most other battery apps don't seem to work on my UX50). So if you would, please e-mail it to me at spaceman60@juno.com. Thanks, -mm |

I LOVE the sound of this app! It seems pretty harmless, since Sony's out of the PDA business now... Does it have a "©" copyright in the "About..." screen? ;) ;) . . . |
akarol@ufl.edu thanks :) |
OK guys, I've sent you all the file. It is a pretty useful application since it would create a record of how long your battery can last. Thus, you can have a basis whether the battery still holds the proper voltage as time goes by. |
|
Cool, I got it thanks! I will be unable to try it out until I get home from school at 6:00 PM today...how does it compare to BatteryGraph app? |
I would be interested as well. gwperry (at) gmail (dot) com |
wouldn't it be shorter to actually write your address...good job at doing a lot more work... :P |

I don't know if you are referring to me, but thanks. :) I wish one of the moderators would respond so I could upload the file to the freeware section. I don't want them or me to get into any trouble. :o As for the battery graph application you mentioned, sorry but I don't use it, so I have no point of comparison. :( For everyone, here it is again. Anyone want to host a link for this file? I'll send it to you. It'll be a lot easier for me too. :D |
Hi Christian, I'm not a Moderator here but I play one on TV. (sorry) Send it to me and I'll host it on Streamload for our friends here at 1src. Send it to: crazy_smeggie@hotmail.com Thanks, SMEGGIE :D |

I haven't used this app yet...I use BatteryGraph: ![]() |
Here's a grab of my test. ![]() And here's the text on how the test is calculated ![]() |
Do we need to have the device on while the test proceeds? Or should turn off the display? Testing my device now...I will post my results here as well. |
Quote:
You have to charge your device up to 100% then start the test. It will disable most of your apps, power switch etc (i didn't test all the other apps) and will lock your device "on" while testing. |
Hey amoon, what brightness level are you on...I'm sure that plays a significant part in this application. I have mine at 50% and I am running this test. |
Quote:
At the time i think it was 100% but when i started the app i saw the screen brightness fall, which means the app sets the screen brightness at a default setting for the test. After the test my brightness was 50%. |
Ah...that makes sense. Honestly though, they shouldn't have the brightness set to 50% but to 100%. That would test the true battery life of the device. I guess that's SONY's way of manipulating the results. |
hey crazy_smeggie I love your latest "beaver" avatar great work. |
Thanks man. I am very fond of the "beaver." :p The show was great too!!! SMEGGIE :D |
