N610c upgrade to N760c?
 

Does anyone remember if the 610 can be upgraded to a 760? I remember way back that Sony offered a ROM update for the 710 to be updated to a 760 but I can't for the life of me remember if this applied to the 610. I don't think it can be, but knew someone here would have the answer. - Just FMI.

I don't believe there is... but isn't the 610 better than the 710 anyway??

610 is the same but without mp3 stuff (software, headphoners)

No, these are the older models I'm wondering about. The 610 is older and less functional than the 760. :D

Well, I suppose if there is no hardware hookup for headphones on the 610, then it probably can't be upgraded to a 760. I would wager that my first guess is right and it can't be done.

I guess I must have been confusing it with the T615/T665...

If I remember correctly the 610 ran Palm OS 4.0 and the 760 ran OS 4.1 . That and the MP3 player were the main differences. Both had the 65k color screen that the 710 did not have before the upgrade (the 710 originally ran Palm OS 3.5S).

You could try the free (unofficial) upgrade that was going around in the Internet at the time, but it is risky, your device may become unstable.

N610C and N760C are the last N-series Clie with old 13-pin plug. Afterwards T series and newer model have 20-pin plug.
