Picture of the Clie Th55 opened up Here is an inside look of the Clie. ![]() |
What made you decide to perform a sudden commando operation on your wonderful TH? |
Is it easy to change the battery? I noticed on my TH that there is a battery cover on the side, held together by a screw. |
I have a clie with a dead screen, a second clie with a none functioning camera button on the circuit circuit board. So I took out the circuit board from the clie with the dead screen and put it in the clie with the good camera. The battery is replaceable, so take out the one screw and unplug the connector. |
thanks for your contribution. now if someone would take a picture of an nz90 taken apart.... |
Thats incredible clie_user. Thanks for the info. So was the whole thing easy to dismantle then? |
Had more? or more detailed... cool pics. |
Wow, did the same thing to my UX40 screen. UX Screen Unveiled!!!! Can you take a picture of the thickness of the screen or tell us how thick it is. Who developed the TH screen? Sharp developed the UX screen. Thanks. JAmerican |
About replacing the TH55 batteries, does anyone know where to get them or canabalism is the only solution to a battery-dead TH55? |
Thanks for the pics. I figure I'll have to do it at some point if something happens to my TH and I need to harvest parts from another one. With Sony's recent announcement I'm getting even more worried about something happening to mine. |

Try www.cliebattery.com for TH55 batteries. Cost is $37.00. I got one for my UX50 from them. They include instructions on how to change them as well. Looks like a snap. You might even be able to pick one up on eBay for cheaper. But warned: they say they will send a screwdriver that allows you to change it. Not true. They sent me four torx wrenches to change the battery on my UX50, and not one of them fit. In fact, the UX50 is not held together by torx screws, it is a pentagon shaped screwhead. I was able to use a small jewelers screwdriver to change it. Just wanted to give you a heads up on the screwdriver. :D |
What is the part number of the screen and its thinkness? JAmerican |
The metal trim looks beat-up. Dog chew on this? |

While waiting for clie_user reply, here is what I have on a TH55 broken screen (not mine, a kind 1rsc member sent his broken screen to me): glasstop + digitizer = 1 mm LCD = 3 mm bracket = 1 mm Total thickness = 5 mm No part number showing on the screen parts, except on the main ribbon tape on the back, which says ACX532AKZ-2 415CN6T. |
