Eww. The new MGS is going to come with one of the ugliest and bulkiest adapters I have EVER seen for any system what-so-ever.

JackAxe 09-25-2005 06:11 PM

What kind of adapter?

<]=)

LupeValenz 09-25-2005 06:12 PM

its some kind of glasses for you to view the new game in '3d'. It sounds cool but egh, it is uuuggly lol

JackAxe 09-26-2005 03:41 AM

Those not be new, those be HEADACHE CAUSING DEATH GOGGLES!!! I had a pair for my old graphics card, and I've tried some others, thye ARE EVIL!!! Massive headache causer, even more so than the Virtual Boy.

OOH! OOH! Sam and Max! Sam and Max!!

Seriously, I love all those games that use the SCUMM system (Beneath a Steel Sky, Flight of the Amazon Queen, Day of the Tentacle) It would be awesome to see them remade for the DS.

JackAxe 09-26-2005 10:35 PM

Yep. I want them ALL! Scumm VM has been ported to the DS BTW. :)

But I would love to see a DS cart from LucasArtst that contains some of the graphic adventurer collections. :)

The only GA I have not played, but own is Grim Fandango.

NJL!2016 10-03-2005 08:33 PM

Castlevania comes out tomorrow! (?)

I think after I buy Castlevania, I'm gonna slow down on the game purchases until the online games start coming out.

zackepceo 10-03-2005 08:47 PM

I'm currently waiting for Trauma Centre and Phoenix Wright.. those are some original games! After that, my only interests lie in Metroid Prime Echoes and Katamari DS when it comes out.

Ezikial Anta 10-04-2005 03:44 PM

Mario Kart, Castlevania (Which is apparently out now?), Metroid Prime, Lunar Dragon Song, Lost in the Blue, and a few more titles I cant remember are on my GOTTA OWN EM list as of now, whereas on my PSP sits GTA:LCS [Mostly for the multiplayer, plus i've always wanted a portable version of GTA3 and this is as close as I will get] and Ghost In the Shell : Stand Alone Complex game...
Thats IT.
Man, my PSP's future is bleak!

JackAxe 10-04-2005 10:17 PM

Sell your PSP and use the money to buy more DS games. :D

JackAxe 10-06-2005 06:58 PM

Lost in the Blue looks great. I watched a DVD trailer that I got with my free subscription of Nintendo Power. Anyways, it shares qualites with game I loved when I was younger. You can do things like combine a rock and stick to make a spear.

CastleVania looooooks amazing!!!

<]=)

NJL!2016 10-07-2005 10:53 PM

My friend got Lost in Blue, and he loves it, but it i's difficult at some times. He also got Trace Memory and loves it. He says it takes a couple of tries to get the puzzles right, and not to use any game guides and discover them on your own.

OMFG! remember this game from like 1999?

Ezikial Anta 10-08-2005 06:28 PM

Rofl! No Way! Freakin Sweet!

JackAxe 10-08-2005 11:21 PM

OMG!!!

Errrr.... Elf Bowling. Now if they can develop these "poor" quality Flash games for the DS, then Nintendo better not turn me down if I ever pursue development for it. Nothing against Flash at all, just against the quality of that game. :) *Sorry, just me opinion as usual.*

Trace Memory is great, I keep on mentioning this. So far it's fairly easy though. I'll get stuck, then figure it out a moments later. But anyways, I'm going with LIB first before getting CV, because of what NJL!2016 mentioned.

<]=)

JackAxe 10-10-2005 03:18 AM

I finished Trace Memory. The game is really good, but it was kind of easy. I'm not sure if I made the right choice at the end and it left a few unanswered questions about one of the other characters, so I'm going to play it again. Some of the puzzles were really unique. They take advantage of the DS quite well, even in a couple of ways I had never imagined.

Anyways, this game is worh it. I paid $26 for it at Costco. The only thing I would've liked is more puzzles, if they would've of added a few more per chapter, it could've possibly added more play time. I really like the character art and all of the illustrations. The background art was rendered in "cheezy-Myst-type-3D," and was somewhat of a clash with illustrated art. If only the person who painted the various paintings in the game, could've also painted the background images, the overall game would've looked awesome. I didn't mind the overhead 3D enviroment though, it worked well, and was really easy to navigate with.

Now I'm going to finish Lunar, and pick up LIB in a couple of weeks. :)

zackepceo 10-10-2005 02:43 PM

I'm waiting for Phoenix Wright and Trauma Centre to both get in stock on amazon.com, then they're as good as mine!

JackAxe 10-10-2005 06:45 PM

I'm waiting for my next bit of downtime, so that I can play these games. :)

Phoenix Wright should be an awesome game, my Nintendo Power gave it an 8. They gave Trace Memory a 8.5. *hint* *hint* you should buy this game also. :]

My friend said that LIB sold out faster than Castlevania, must get this game also.

Do you think Nintendo will change its mind about being able to link the DS to the GameCube?

<]=)

NJL!2016 10-10-2005 07:28 PM

I just bought Castlevania a few hours ago. It's sooooooooooo awesome.

LupeValenz 10-10-2005 10:13 PM

Arrr thats it lol, I have to rip off the plastic and try this Trace Memory :D. I can give Trauma center nother try later on :D.

JackAxe 10-11-2005 02:35 AM

I played Trace Memory all weekend, and couldn't put it down until I beat it. :)

I picked up an old display from my friend's store because it had Castlevania and Trace Memory on it. :) Just neeeeeeeeds the game. DrooOoooools.

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-11-2005 03:54 AM

I have to say, I really do like how the game use the DS features, even that lil finger scanner was kinda cool. Need to make a game like that for the 'adults', make the puzzles a lil bit more harder.

JackAxe 10-11-2005 01:25 PM

So did you beat it? :) There's a couple of things that game does that go beyond even the conventional mic and touchscreen features.

I heard through the grapevine yesterday, that Lucas Arts will be releasing their Graphic Adventures for the DS. So if you haven't played these games, the classics are plenty challenging (Way harder then TM) and sooo much fun. :)

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-11-2005 03:01 PM

Not yet, I was gettin tired and had to take a break, those lil quizzes at the end are neat, but sucks if you have a bad memory lol.

JackAxe 10-11-2005 03:36 PM

Guessing works. :)

I'm back playing Lunar in my spare time again. Its dialogue was definitely not written for adults. :D But it's sooo much better than Fire Emblem's boring story.

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-11-2005 06:02 PM

Just finished it and have to admit its a good game :D. The DS makes for a great mystery game machine :D. Hope to see more like it ^_^, wish there was a notebook too just to write things down you think would be important hehe. Especially like that ending, very creative :D.

LupeValenz 10-11-2005 08:33 PM

Ohhh, traded in Trace Memory for Trauma center and have to say, its VERY good. I can see this game being played multiple times because of the ranks you get. You have to be fast and accurate as well :D.

JackAxe 10-11-2005 08:36 PM

Shhhh, don't spread around that idea about the notebook. ¬¬ And that's why they gave you a camera. :p

While playing Lunar, I had the same idea about being able to take notes, so since you had the same thought, I'm sure newer games will carry this feature. I've been scribbling down lots of little ideas for a DS RPG, even a better way to plan an attack during battles. (Of course I don't know this for sure, since It's only on paper.) :o Lunar, although good, could've been great, and the good doesn't come at first. But at least it doesn't have boring dialogue.

I saved it right before the ending, so I'm going to go back and choose the other guy. Did you feel the ending was kind of ambiguous about the choice also?

<]=)

JackAxe 10-11-2005 08:40 PM

You traded it. After playing it. THIEF!!! :p

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-11-2005 08:53 PM

What else could I do, not much of a replay value :D. Trauma is so fun. Man, i was so scared with the Trace, caught me by surprise at the end with tryin to remember alot of stuff bout earlier on in the game >_<. Thankfully was right bout everything but took time to remember the answers :D.

JackAxe 10-11-2005 10:01 PM

Are you sure you were right? :) Because they really set it up so that it could go both ways? And if you don't answer right, it just asks you the same question again. :) I'm going to play the end tomorrow night when I get hopefully a small break from working.

I told weef about Trama Center and Ace Attorney, and these are probably the first games she's wanted to play.

<]=)

JackAxe 10-11-2005 10:23 PM

The wind up toy is great!!! :D I just bought it.

<]=)

JackAxe 10-11-2005 11:07 PM

I couldn't wait, but there's only one choice for an ending. If you choose the wrong one, it asks the question again. I still think that it could've gone both ways though.

Did you find more info about D, or did you game end with unaswered questions about his past?

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-12-2005 12:54 AM

No, I finished the game with his past discovered and saw him free to go. It was a good ending, overall everything ended well :D.

Windup toy?! Now thats new for me!! What is it?! Windup puppy toy? that would be funny to see hehe.

JackAxe 10-12-2005 02:21 AM

TURKEY!!!! !!@#@!# I missed something. Well, I'll need play it again, it should only take about an hour. :D Figures, I got stuck on those dolls for a few, not because it was a hard puzzle, but because I missed the desk in the other room. I found the small key even before I found the dolls. Blah!!! None of the puzzles were hard, I just missed the little crevices. I'm used to the old-school adventures where when you roll over something that can be examined, it brings up its name. Just more excuses on my part. :)

It's a little robot, you wind it up, then use the stylus to turn it right or left. The dogs bark at it and are scared, but once it slows down, they'll chase it then carry it back. :)

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-12-2005 02:26 AM

Oh wow, didn't think you could go through the game unless you get D history as well >_<. I like to click on everything to see what it brings up. I like findin the blue DTS cards to read the journals :D.

LOL now that sounds so fun. Hate to say it, but with LiB, TM and TC, the puppies haven't seen me this weekend -_-. I hope they are still there waiting for me hehe.

LupeValenz 10-12-2005 04:58 AM

If your lookin for a FUN and yet, CHALLENGIN game, check out Tramua center! This thing is relentless, and the time limits /(>_<)\ aghhh. One bad thing bout it, is drawin circles to zoom in and out, it has to be nearly perfect and quick and majority of the time, I can't draw and sucks to see the patient blood oozin as I can't zoom in lol. Other than that, this is one that needs to be added to the amazin DS library :D. Talk to the guys at gamestop and they said at first DS was slow, but now its picking up with games like this, Castlevania, and Nintendogs.

JackAxe 10-12-2005 09:22 AM

Don't worry, they ran away. :p

I missed somthing. Those blue cards were annoying journal entries. I kept on thinking to myself that is was a waist to record so little on a device that could probably hold an entire library worth of info. :)

I'm assuming the Nintendo Power review peep did the same thing I did, because he mentioned the second time he played it he had a different ending.

<]=)

JackAxe 10-12-2005 09:28 AM

I've mentioned my friend who worked at GameCrazy a few times, anyways, the DS is selling really well at all of his stores. The only other device selling is the PS2 right now.

In a month, peeps will be buying another XBox, to play the "same" games, but with 30% better graphics. My friend who I mentioned above played it at a managers meeting, he said that all the game are using just one core, and that games like Saint Rose were still beta, so ran rather poorly. This wasn't even a month ago.

Anyways, the only system he's interested in right now, even after seeing all of the new vomit, is the DS. :D He ownes a PSP, but was really irratated with the selection coming out this fall. He said besides GTA, everything was crap.

I'm rambling, because I've been up all night working.

<]=)

LupeValenz 10-12-2005 02:03 PM

Oh man, better not be a good ending lol.

Yup Yup, I don't plan on bein one of them X-fans hehe. Savin up for Revolution ^_^. The DS will keep me very happy until that comes along, and I'm pretty sure I'll still be trying to beat Trauma center by the time that comes out lol.

Oh yeah, for GBA RPG, check out Riveria. It is pretty good and its really story driven, pratically every screen has some dialog in it :D.

JackAxe 10-12-2005 06:35 PM

Every screen has dialogue, that's scary. But I have been interested in getting it.

Lunar is more than enough to fill me up in my free time right now. The one thing I like, is that I can use the stylus to move my characters. It's not as good as Trace Memory, where they follow your cursor point, but its sooo much better than holding my thumb-down all of the time. I'm going to build in a little stylus navigator for my future DS RPG game. If complete vomit like Elf Bowling can get approval to be published by Nintendo, then I can get my crap out there also. :)
