How about a future where the starbks are all Nintendo DS parlors where people might engage in ad. hoc. games.

Ezikial Anta 04-08-2005 04:01 PM

thatd be so sweet.
I hear that DS tunneling starts its beta test the 11th and then one month later its online.

teralens 04-08-2005 04:51 PM

Would a MORPG consist of a group on DS machines playing online RPG via Wi-Fi?
After running a9 on Nintendo Tunnel, I found no useful information.

I bought Rayman DS, but so far I'm just "eh" with it. This is a game that would definately be way better on a PSP. I'm going to give it a chance though, I'm just hoping the fact I'm having trouble collecting these bubbles for breathing under water is just me and not because the game has terrible collision-detection. The game is also very pixelated compared to the other 3D games I have on the DS, so I know they could've done better. They seemed to have cut corners on this just to get it out. For example they let me use the touch screen to move Rayman, but they don't really use it as an option selection screen. Plus they allow me to make my screen controler bigger, but instead of providing a clean image at the bigger size, the simply scale it up using hardware, which looks like crap.

I would've rather seen this game be released as the classic Playstation side-scroller for the DS. I love old school games, so I hope cheeseball 3D ports don't become the norm for my DS.

Something that's annoying me about the first batch of DS games, is that they sometimes cop out and don't use the touch screen for all areas that it would be very usefull. They alwasy go about half way. It seems that most developer are "quite" lazy now days, especially since everything is a rehashed port. I look forward to "original" DS titles that really take advantage of its potential.

If this Rayman DS game doesn't pan out, then I'll just regret the fact I could've bought the Yoshi DS game. Anyways it was only $26, so not bad.

Have you bought Wario Ware Touched? I'm going to when I get a chance, that game is nuts!

Another game that I'm going to buy when it comes out is Electroplankton.

JackAxe 04-20-2005 05:45 PM

My friend showed me Wario, he says it's a blast. I watched him play briefly, but haven't actually tried it yet.

I just want all my options to be available on the touch screen. I don't like it when they only go so far and leave most things on the buttons. I suspect that this is because they're just porting games.

I've been looking at homebrew DS games. I'm going to buy a Passthrough once they're a little bit more refined. I downloaded all the schematics showing memory regions, so hope to be doing something by this summer.

I hate IGN, can't find that many screen shots on this Electroplankton game and they want me to register to see a video.

Wario Ware is nothing but the touch screen. I'm going to get that, Electroplankton, Katamari DS, Final Fantasy 3, and Xenogears.

JackAxe 04-20-2005 10:52 PM

Yep, I watched me friend play, it even has a portion where you blow on the screen.

I'm definately getting FF3, the other two I'll need to see more on.

I plan on getting those and more.
They look terrific.

JackAxe 04-29-2005 01:19 PM

Yoshi's Touch and Go. :)

JackAxe 04-29-2005 09:25 PM

I should of got it, I bought Rayman instead. It isn't bad and some peeps really like it, but I would've probably enjoyed Yoshi allot more.

Did you get it? :)

The Electroplankton official site (Japanese) has some video of the game in action and loads of other great random stuff (character and creator info, wallpapers). It may be a bit of trial-and-error maneuvering the site if you're not familiar with Japanese though.
