Good luck with that... Dead Pixel CITY... |
That's just one more reason to wait for a price drop. :) If anything a new rev would also be worth waiting for. Are you buying a Micro also? <]=) |
I will buy a Micro... Its just too damn cool to pass up. Finally played YTAG today from my Bro's DS (Cause he wouldnt let me have the cartridge haha!) Great game - IF you like the touch screen. It uses ONLY the touchscreen - and theres no real story line, but its fun as hell, and fast paced! I recommend it if you like arcadish styled games, or like addicting / quick challenge games. The graphics are kinda cool, they remind me of Yoshis Island for the SNES... Obviously, no NintenDogs, but its fun, and cheery. Supports download play too. Download play mode only has one option, (As i got him to play it with me after a while) but, its fun. We only made the goal once, out of 35 games played. |
35 times, you s..... :P *kidding* I could always trade in Rayman for it. :) It sounds like a great game, good way to kill some time. I'll look into it after I finish Sith with both Obi and Ani. <]=) |
Lol, Well, let me explain. You win by either getting to the end first OR by dying. You are competing to get to the end first. Getting to the end is rare. Ok who am i kidding, i admit it, i suck at that game. But its fun! *It was my first day standard excuse* |
Yep, it's just all excuses in th end. :p <]=) |
^_^ Its what we do. |
OK, I'm still going to get Wario Twisted for the GBA, but GoldenEye finally hit the shelves. :D Anyways, I've been waiting for it and it's an awesome FPS. The controls are perfect, and everything looks great, not PSP great, but N64 great. It's not the original GoldenEye that I was hoping would be released, but is way better then any of its bigger console brother variations, because of its superior controls. Anyways, loooooooads of fun. Now I can't wait for Metroid Hunters. :D <]=) |
Have I said anything about Electroplankton yet? NO?!?! Well, I imported it. Veeeeeeeeeeeery good decision. |
Nooooo, you never mentioned that game. :p I'll get to it. :) <]=) |

Imported a few weeks ago as well. Really innovative!! Always new music to make every time I pop in the card. Just wish there was an easy way to record the creations. And "Audience" is pretty o-k as a stand alone background music source for homework and such. |
EA back from a break called finals ~ (Thats a break!?) I got GoldenEye: Rouge Agent today - though the game feels a bit rushed, its still so much fun... I havent even played story mode yet as I have been owning my brother with the PPG (I think thats the name? Its the handgun in any case) |
Are you playing multi play with 2 carts? I only played with one cart, so I was limited to that single texture wako map. But overall, I'm having a blast with the game. Single player is up there with all other FPS games I've played, nothing new, but fun. If it weren't for the controls and multi-play, this is not a game I would've bought. But those two elements make it worth every penny. Unless developers just haven't figured out all the tricks, I'm pretty sure this is the extent of what 3D will look like on a DS. But I'm fine with that, a portable N64 is welcome in my book. <]=) |
Behold, this is any easy way to hack a game portable; http://www.linker4u.com/pp/item_det...C-22CE681161B6# This hack only requires a GBA Flash rom, it uses the built-in WiFi to transfer the data; http://www.hackaday.com/entry/1234000850040596/ They've already managed to re-write the Nintendo DS's ROM, so they skys the limit. Homebrew DS SDK kits are currenty in development, so sooon I'll have another hobby. <]=) |
grrr...PacPic looks like crap, but when I played it....oh my God, it was sooooo addicting!!!! Nintendo is true to their word, they focus on gameplay while Sony and MicroSoft focuses on graphics. It is sooo fun to draw a HUGE pacman eat the lil ghost, sure...it is slow, but still funny seein it take the whole screen :p |
Graphics are overrated, I mean 3D. :p Not saying they don't help, but the games I like the best look great on even a GBA screen. Anyhoooo, polygons have been the death to graphics for years. :) <]=) |
Yeah. Is that why you like Nintendo? :D |
One of the reasons, and most of their games don't suck. :p <]=) |
http://ds.ign.com/objects/722/722763.html Looks to be a good DS RPG... |
Awesome. Looks really good. The only thing that I thought was kind of weird, was the battle scenes that occupy both images. I would of rather scen the battle on top, and all the stats and stuff on the bottom. http://media.ds.ign.com/media/722/7...mg_2884203.html I'll buy it though. My DS has been great for my vacation. I have yet to recharge it. <]=) |
I just got my DS at EB for $110 used with warranty and I traded in my GBA SP (the guy said it was in great condition) The games I want to get are: Advance Wars: Dual Strike Nanostray and Wario Ware Touched Does anyone use the alarm feature? Is it loud enough to wake you up? |
I've never used the alarm feature, although I know it's near useless because the DS has to be on. |
Yea, but you can close the lid and it will go into sleep. I like that feature. |
Sleep mode is great. I'm not quite used to it, but I have closed my lid during a game, and then came back later that day to play. My DS lasted me over 2 weeks without a charge. I didn't use it all the time, but after 2 plane flights, a couple of 400 mile road trips, and a few plays during my vacation, it still has charge left. :) <]=) |
The GBA has a sleep mode, but it has to be coded into the software to work. Super Mario Advance can do it. |
Zeld the Minish Cap also has a sleep mode which can be entered manually. It would be nice if I could just close the lid like the DS games to activate it, but no big deal. <]=) |
I got Meteos for my birthday (yippie!). I really, really like it. It's not too hard (you don't just hit a brick wall like in Polarium) and it is overall very good. |
Tooo many game, must buy them all. :) My friend just pointed out Nanostray. I hadn't even heard of it. <]=) |
I've been looking for Nanostray everywhere. It just came out yesterday. Advance Wars: Dual Strike (yet another play on the DS) has a real-time battle mode! Quote:
Ahh... yes. I remember that. It was something like <select> and one of the shoulder buttons. |
I'm going to pickup that new RPG Riviera that just came out for GBA when I finish Fire Emblem. And yes Wario Twist ware is on my list. :) http://www.gamecrazy.com/games/game.aspx?ID=9934 I hope the monologue isn't boring. FE's cut scenes booooore me. I generally just breeze through them. <]=) |
I didn't like Wario Ware Twisted as much as Touched, personally. |
I just bought Wario Ware Touched yesterday. I've never played any Wario Ware games before, and It's pretty good, IMO. It seems that I can only find Nanostray online. Bah. EDIT: I went ahead and ordered it on Amazon, but It's not available right away. BAH! Is Super Mario 64 any good? |
Quote:
I think it is essentially the N64 version, so it should be good. |
I might be compelled to get Pokemon Diamond when it comes out. |
SM64 is good. Its basicly the same game as the 64 version with a few twists, but if you havent played the 64 version, it should be even better. |
I really liked the N64 version, I just never finished it. I played the DS version multplayer at the movie theater and it was fun. <]=) |
Just got done playing Kirby: Canvas Curse. Typical candy-coated Nintendo/Kirby look, but so much fun to play it should be illegal. |
Slashdot had a review on it, and they said the same thing. So it's worth picking up now? :) I preoreder Nintendogs; The one with the Dachshund. <]=) |
Planning on picking up a Nintendo DS tomorrow... Got a couple of quick questions for the experts: How does the battery hold up (hours of play)? Are there any ways to browse the web with it's Wi-Fi? I remember reading somewhere that the PSP could do so through a certain game's built-in browser. What are the best DS games? Is there truth to the rumors of Nintendo licensing the Palm OS for the DS? |
The battery lasts about 10 hours for DS games, and more for GBA games. It's true that Nintendo wanted to license Palm OS, and if that works out, a web browser would certainly be possible. As it is, there is no DS web browser, though. The games I like are Nanostray, Meteos, Wario Ware Touched, and Electroplankton. |
