Clie as Device in Winamp 5?
 

Alright, I've been searching for a way to do this but no luck thus far. Maybe someone here has an idea, or the motivation to write a winamp plugin.

I want to be able mount my Clie's Memory Stick as a drive on my PC using DataImport (Or MSImport for older units) and have Winamp 5 recognize it as a device. That would allow me to click and drag music from my Media Library to the device without having to find the mp3s on my hard drive. Also makes it much easier to copy whole albums. There is a plugin to do this with the iPod. Anyone have any ideas?

OH awesome! I think I found the solution. This plugin should mount any drive or folder as a device. Allows you to click and drag tracks directly within the library. I hope this thread (though short) serves as a resource for anyone looking to accomplish the same thing.

It is French though, and I don't see a way to delete tracks off of your MS, but oh well. It's half way there.

That plugin didn't do what I needed, so I have appealed to the Winamp Development community with a post asking if development on such a plugin is possible.

Hounslow, go ahead and get Winamp 5. It is far more stable and feature rich than Winamp3.

I was hoping there is a device for the Clie where you can emulate a MS and have the emulated device connected to a shared folder on a computer.

Which would make an infinite amount of space.
