Video streaming on ux50 I've got an ux50 for a few days but I don't know yet what it's possible to do with... I'd like to do video streaming (for my job). It means that it should get some videos on a server and (maybe) remote control a video projector to play them. It seems to me very hard. I thought about several possible solutions: implement a server on my PC that do the work and connect it with NetFront, develop software for the PDA (SOB)... But it could be better if software already exists... so, what can I do? |

Well .. the UX plays MPEGs, and it has WiFi which some developers have used to access remote file sytems (SMBMate e.g.) .. so it's not beyond the realms of possibility that somebody could do this for you by gluing these two things together. I think the problem will be that Sony aren't always forthcoming with the documentation for their machines, so hooking into the built-in video API might not be easy. sjb |
