PEG Mass Storage Driver When I plug in my ux50 via USB cable, Win98SE looks for a PEG Mass Strorage Driver. I have done a search on cliesource, and found the drivers from DriverGuide.com But none of the drivers there work with the ux50. I don't want to go with the smbmate route yet, because my firewall isn't set up properly on my current machine, and it's win98 afterall. So double UGH! Anyway, I'm unsure how Data Import on the clie works with Data Export from the PC, especially if PEG Mass Storage Driver isn't present. Long story short, does that driver exist? |
nobody? |
No idea why you are getting that message. You should only have to install the standard Sony Data Link software which comes on your CD and it will turn your memory stick into a readable drive on your Windows PC. |
what I should clarify is that I don't have a MS yet. WAnted to upload an mp3 to palm/programs/msaudio as a demo only. |
I don't believe the UX50 gives Windows direct access to internal memory with the default apps. Set up SMBmate, it's really a lot easier and worth the trouble :P |
Its on your clie cd. I don't have it on me right now so can't direct you where its at, but I have WinXP and all I had to do was install the CD, input the UX50, go to dataimport, connect, the WinXP said looking for the drivers, found it on the CD and installed it on its own. When you have it done, you can access the UX50 like any other drive and drop, retrieve files with ease. :) |
Win 98 doesn't have auto-driver detect or whatever so you're gonna have to pop in your CD and just run the setup.exe . . . . but i get the feeling you don't have the CD in which case . . . . idk. do like everyone else and ask for a free handout. |
When it's looking for the driver, go to your UX CD-ROM to: X:\Drivers\SCSI\Win98 Or, you can install the driver before plugging in the UX by going here: X:\PC\CLIE SCSI Driver\Setup.exe |
cool, I have the CDs. I've threw in the cd when it asked for the diver, but it did't find it. Fanx for your help, I'ltry again. |
