I just saw another NZ picture comparasant to other PDA's and I LIKE the NZ. It's not that much bigger, considering what you are getting. I don't care who sells it, I will find it and buy it!

If you guys haven't seen this NZ movie demo you got's to check this out! www.sony.co.jp/clie

What is meant by the remote camera? Can you detatch the camera from the device? That would be very cool, although I don't know how I'd use it. Cool video, but I don't think you can judge the size by it.

jedix 02-01-2003 10:36 AM

I thought by "remote camera" you could control their bluetooth camera with the built in bluetooth on the NZ - nothing to do with the camera on the NZ itself. But, I could be wrong. Anybody else have ideas / suggestions?

Medcat99 02-01-2003 10:44 AM

That sounds far more realistic. Kind of cool I guess. What sort of uses will anyone have for the felica card reader?

LITTLESIX 02-01-2003 11:02 AM

Jedix - that is the use that the Sony Japan site shows.

Medcat, it was my understanding that the felica card reader is only on the non-US versions. (I might very well be wrong). Maybe some of our non-US members can chime in here.

jedix 02-01-2003 11:30 AM

Yea, I saw that and was pretty sure that's what they meant. I don't know if they inferred any other uses by "remote camera."

I also read somewhere that the felica card reader was only in the non-US version

Not surprising

I am not surprised that you may not find an $800.00 PDA in many stores. The availability of the NZ 90 will be much like the top-line IPAQ 5855 (I think it's $700.00), which is not available in many stores or the HP Jornada 720, which has always been easier to buy online because it is an expensive handheld. I bet the NZ 99 will be cheaper.

Damn you, Maji. I had about convinced myself that I could wait for another model or put that money away for another Panerai watch (Some of you think the Z would be a lot, try dropping $3K-$10K every few months and see if that doesn't get the old BP moving).

Anyway, between the photos I saw of the keyboard and your blasted video, I guess I'll kiss that new PAM123 good-bye for now. I want one of these big beauties.

Is there help for someone like me?

Dog gone it PhilB! I'm sorry but you know misery loves company!:) I wasn't sold on the NZ until I saw that video, it's beautiful! The background music had me glued to the screen. How can't you buy one if you can afford it! Hey, to answer your question, "Is there any help for someone like you?" Not in here it isn't! We are all in the same boat! WE ALL NEED HELP!:o

It still puzzles me how BB can sell the Ipaq 5455 for $699 but won't sell the NZ for $799. I can't believe that the profit margin for the NZ is that small. Well whoever has it, I'm there. I still want to see it in person before I buy it.

CopyCat 02-02-2003 04:08 PM

doesn't surprise me that BB won't carry it. You saw this kinda thing often if you worked there.

MAJI 02-02-2003 06:42 PM

You're the third BB employee that said that. Well my friend who is the midwest regional manager of BB said if they do carry the NZ it will be released on the 16th of this month.

I'm with you on this. Does anyone remember that the Ipaq 3970 originally came out at $749 in some places? (But that was okay because it had Blue Tooth and that wonderful screen...hmmm?) But, I, too want to actually see and touch it before I mortgage my house and rent that 3/4 ton truck to haul it away (see, we Z lovers can have a sense of humor, too. But don't push it or we'll blow you away with the bazooka adapter on the NZ:D )
