TX with broken screen, anyone? My TX has developed the dread unfixable WiFi problem--soft reset whenever WiFi is turned on. The WiFi on my TX is moderately important to me, though not important enough to buy a whole new TX. Does anybody have a TX with a broken screen (or something else broken) that they could sell cheap for parts? By the way, I am still occasionally doing some PalmOS programming, mainly for astronomy. |
What do you consider "cheap"? I have my TX that is in good shape that has been collecting dust for a few years now. Feel free to email me to discuss further if you want. wildceltATgmailDOTcom |
Thanks! I finally got the TX's WiFi working, albeit unreliably, by installing the WiFi security update (which is now free!). The unreliability may be due to the fact that I restored an old backup over the security update, and I shouldn't have restored the old panels. I'll have to fix that up. But in any case, it's working well enough to do the nightly updates that I have it do via MassDL and my server. It may die eventually. |

Pruss, do you have a link for the free WiFi security update? I couldn't find it on the Palm site. Thanks! <C> |
Glad you got it working again. Well, if anyone is interested in a pretty darn pristine TX (with box) let me know. I also have a T5 I need to get rid of. |

It might help to find takers if you suggested what price ranges you're looking for for the two devices. |

Tried the WiFi security update - result endless reset loop when Hotsynced to restore databases. Got out of this by hard reset then restore using Resco Backup. WiFi security update now gone. May try a selective restore in the future - not sure what would have caused the conflict. May try without AutoWiFi and FixWiFi. Trev |

Agreed, but I wasn't going to hijack your thread for an ad! :) |
