ThumbArt pTunes skin
 

Would anyone be interested in helping me make this skin for pockettunes? I've been looking everywhere for true thumb-friendliness and album art.




Anyone like this design or got any ideas for improvement?

Well I have sold my Palm TX and in that way discontinued development of Garnet related things, but I can help since I am used to it and also have a winmo device with Pocket Tunes (uses pretty much the same skin engine). However, if I help you I will also port this skin to windows mobile and send it to normsoft, would you be fine with that (or you can send the port to them personally)?

Sorry for the delay. It could suck that I designed it in Publisher! I don't mind if you make money from it, just put my name in there. I've got some other ideas that I'm keen on and hope to work on over the next while. I think the cover art and title/artist need to be more prominent.

I love the way the pTunes iTunes 7 skin's coverflow works though I I hate the rest of the skin. I wish pTunes coding was easier so I could have a crack.

What can I do to help someone make it? Do I need to save the files as certain sizes?

Decided to re-think a little, I think this puppy is a near goer. Thoughts?



Also what would I need to do to help someone pull it together? at the moment it's all image(s)... I really want this on my device.

I straight up wanted it to be simple, practical (Palm Zen) and beautiful (think V). Looking back it will still require some tweaking.

So you know I'm thinking:
- Tap title for full-size album art
- details via list button - could use this to toggle to a secondary (/primary?) simple screen sans volume, repeat, random, plus/minus (maybe cover flow version?)
- Tap the album art to play/pause
behind the title/artist is the indicator for whether it's playing or paused (display square if nothing loaded)
- The cover art above is what would display with no art
- I've come to really like AyIu's iPhone volume slider, it works great with your nail.

I would strongly consider doing a 320x480 version - I will be returning to my TX after the Pre isn't coming to Oz and I'm getting over the Centro.

Well, nice work on this new skin guys. I'd love to try it out. Is it for 480 screens (portrait/landscape) as well?

It doesn't exist yet... at this stage, there isn't many programmers out there for Palm OS.

I'm going back to a T|X from my Centro so I would be naturally doing the graphics for that(640x480) in time.

I really like all of your designs and I think they would look fantastic instead of the ordinary pTunes skin. Someone please help make this into an actual skin!

A pity too because I'm planning on having my Centro for at least another year...

If you can get me a (legal) license of classic for my Pre, then I can code the skin. Otherwise I am just tapping in the dark and you may have to go through several hotsync rounds if you want me to help.
