1SRC Podcast 185 This week we cover the new VZW Centro, Facebook, for Palm OS, the 1SRC Editorial, and the Spectec 802.11b miniSD Wi-Fi card in the Windows Mobile Minute! [details] |
Alan, I was unable to open the podcast in PTunes. From within iTunes I converted it 'again' to MP3, transferred once more and then I was able to play it. Apparently something went wrong in the publication process ? |
Nice podcast, Alan. I think you missed the point of the Facebook app though. From what I could tell, this has been written by Palm Inc. Not only that, its coming out very soon after Colligan's "Palm 2.0" article (forgot the name of the publication) where he is talking about connectivity as a priority. I think this app is just a first in a bunch of native apps to allow the user to stay in tune with the most used web services, without using the browser. |
I downloaded it to the Centro and opened it in pTunes with no problems (although I did use the Resco download tool instead of blazer (for some reason, it doesn't want to download podcasts anymore) |

I agree with you, I do believe that the Palm OS Facebook application is the first of many consumer-oriented applications that we'll see from Palm over the coming year. The article you are referring to, I believe, is this one. Alan G |
:D That's the one. I wonder if that's also the indication of the direction of the new OS. |
I don't see any mention here or in the show notes about the two (Palm & WinMobile) mileage tracking apps that you mentioned in the podcast. Could you please provide links? Thanks. |
You can find the two applications I talked about for tracking mileage here: Mileage Calculator for Palm OS: http://www.freewarepalm.com/calcula...alculator.shtml Gas Up Logger for Windows Mobile: http://freewareppc.com/database/gasuplogger.shtml Alan G |

Weird. I had no trouble downloading the podcast on my work PC and then playing them on my Treo 755p or 750. At least you were able to get it to play. Alan G |
1 Attachment(s) We got transcripts! June 14, 2008 is attached. |
Thanks, Alan, for the info on Mileage Calculator. I already use "PFuel" located at http://pfuel.sourceforge.net/. I always like checking out the new utilities of this type; in this case, I recommend PFuel, as it appears to give more stats and also has graphs of stats over time. |
I have also used Fuel Record 1.3 from http://www.geocities.com/trandorous/ - though I am using pFuel for now. They are very similar programs and I can't remember what made me switch. |
