Jaap, will there be any way to access that other than the "Show next event" tool? Could you do a little up/down arrows in the empty space on the left side of the "2sl Digital Clock"? I would think a lot of people would have this tool displayed.

I have "Set system time + date" as one of my slots, the "1/6" with the large font would be better for me at least. But I would still prefer "Tuesday 1/6/09" all in large font. I am grateful for this program and any enhancement would be appreciated. BTW brightness control will be so cool... :)

Yeah, I can put the brightness control also on the digital and the analalog clock. I didn't expect this feature to be so popular. The reason I made it was because of the very tiny symbol on the Tungstens you can hardly select with your finger. What's better: On some devices you cannot go till 100% dark, now you can. I also made it logarithmic, so you have a better gradation at the dark side.

This is possible also. I just have to abbreviate the day names.
BTW Some space on the panel seems to be just not used, this is because of the different formats (system prefs), different languages, 24 hours mode or am/pm mode.

Those all sound like nice improvements. Keep it up and thanks for listening!

Recurrent Timers / Alamrs

In version 1.1.1, what I really missed in the Timer alarm was for it to repeat itself, i.e., restart as soon as it was done. For instance, the Timer would sound every 1h, or 20min, or whatever, until I decided to turn it off.

In version 1.2, I found there is the Recursive Alarm n Times/Day. But that alarm occupies three (3) slots, and that was very disappointing for me (I had to free two slots I was using).

Instead of this alarm using up three slots, wouldn't it be interesting if:

a) The Timer alarm had a Repeat option added, and/or;

b) In the Recursive Alarm, the info that is now set in the main window be moved to the alarm's settings, and the alarm use only one slot.

I don't know how feasible this is (sounds simple for a user, but may actually be complex).

But thanks for listening, anyway.

This is possible. In the next version (1.3) there is a new timer with more functions: Count up, count down, with pause and it has the big buttons like the stopwatch. Version 1.3 is already in final test now but I can add a repeat there in a later release.

Sure, the 3 slot interval timer takes much space but I think it better to keep a straightforward user interface instead of having the 3 times (interval, start, end) spread over different forms.

Cool! looking forward for that!

Thanks a lot!

Im using BellTime on my Centro very much and I always tap on the screen with my fingers, especially in BellTime. The only thing I miss is a bigger button to enable the countdown timer or alarm so my fingers will hit target better. Do you think this is possible?

Thank you for this useful alarm utility!

Jaap Steilberg 01-20-2009 05:32 PM

videkatten:
In version 1.3 (coming up) I have a countdown timer with big buttons!
For the daily/weekly alarms switching ON is also possible by just a tap on the time and then a tap on OK. Otherwise on the Centro you can go to the slot with 5-way navigation and then press the center button.

Any chance for a fix for PTunes v. 5.0 Does not work with the new versio. ptunes 4.07 works fine with belltime but version 5.0 of ptunes does not.
When setting belltime alarm with Ptunes as the player (since there is no support for palms standard mp3 player) the alarm pops up but plays nothing. there is a single second of sound and then silence

scottl 02-18-2009 11:02 AM

Agreed, changes need to be made for PTunes 5. I noticed it seems to play whatever is in my PTunes current playlist - not the MP3 I select in the alarm settings. Strange...

Thanks for mentioning. In the moment I cannot do a lot, the pTunes API is still the same. Just yesterday I reported this to the pTunes developer.

Thanks for the update Jaap.
