Where can I buy that adapter in California? I'm travelling to USA in July and I'd like to buy one... Do you know if Cuircuit City sells them?

eric2002 06-11-2003 05:48 PM

I am using the "AA" battery charger (as I described in an earlier post on this thread)....

... you can use this charger while it is connected to your NZ ...so yes your NZ can run off of the charger, you don't have to wait for it to fully charge your NZ before you start using it. Did that make sense?
I was contemplating getting the 9volt battery charger but read on some posts in Cliesource that one 9volt battery did not charge the NZ as many times as 4 "AA" batteries could. ....this was why I went with the 4AA charger.

I've used mine for one trip and am about to use it on another...

eric2002 06-11-2003 05:50 PM

marionodapa,

the 9volt can be bought at "shopbrando"
and the AA can be bought from an eBay online store..
review the previous threads for the correct links

marianodapia 06-11-2003 06:20 PM

Where is that "shopbrando"? I'd need to know where exactly it is... and aprox price....

Me again,

I gave you the URL a couple of posts ago. Brando is based in HK (most likely stuff/parts manufactured in China) prices in USD. They ship anywhere in the world. In actual fact it's surface mail/registered mail since most of their stuff is relatively light

I got their screen protector on my NZ90 (it's washable, no glare very good), also Retractable Charging Synch cable. Of course the battery adaptor & I've just gone back & ordered a case & the Normal Charger Cable (a little more rugged & has a hotsync button which I'll use instead of getting a second cradle)

Cheers David

(I'll register in this forum when I get a second mail address setup so I don't get spammed to death...)

eric2002 06-12-2003 11:22 AM

yes I too ordered my screen protector from "shop brando"...

hey Mariaonodapia,
the links are all on this thread... just search the previous replies and you'll see the links to both chargers, i think shop brando also has a "banner ad" on the home page of cliesource.. shouldn't be hard to find!

marianodapia 06-12-2003 02:18 PM

Thank you, but I was saying about the address, not the link, so I go there...

just an observation

Just an extra tidbit of information about using the battery extender for the nz90. When the nz is plugged to the battery adapter and turned on, its power light will turn half green (nz ON) half orange (nz chargning). This means it's discharging and charging at the same time rather than exclusively using the external battery (4AA). I don't see this half green/half orange light when using the AC adaptor with the nz turned on (just see green light).

Like I said, just an observation on a hot June Sunday night, sitting around the house enjoying my nz.

Are you referring to the Sony adaptor, or the brando.com 9 volt? I want to purchase a battery adaptor, and am not sure which one I want.

Bo_ 06-23-2003 12:14 AM

I have the Sony one with 4 AA batteries, it is able to charge the NZ if required, but I am really just as happy to just leave it plugged in and photograph with the NZ running of the battery pack.

I noticed the "half green, half orange" light on the Clie when the batteries in my battery extender needed recharged.  Once I recharged them, the battery extender functioned just like the AC adaptor - the Clie's light was green when it was discharging, and orange when it was charging - but not at the same time.

So, I think if you see the half green, half orange light, it's time to recharge the 4 AA's in your battery extender.

LaserProUSA 06-26-2003 12:52 PM

I also purchased the battery adapter from eBay for about $9 and am most pleased. The connector is for the T series but works just fine on the NZ90. Although I have a spare battery I've never charged it because nonone (SONY!) has come out with an external battery charger so using the external battery charger with 4 rechargeable batteries give me hours upon hours of use.

Highly recommended as $9 (adapter) + $15 (batteries) = only about $24 or so while the spare batter is upwards of $80.

marianodapia 07-15-2003 02:28 PM

Will this WORK with the NZ90??

Check it out, isn't this the same battery adapter bc10??

Bo_ 07-15-2003 03:19 PM

Yes that looks identical to the BC10

And yes it works with the NZ90, I use it all the time.

Cool, I will picking one up ASAP. To bad Sony simply doesn't recommend or sell items that us users want and/or need.

mhb 07-15-2003 04:03 PM

How ist this battery adapter called on ebay. I can not find it there. Thank you.

marianodapia 07-15-2003 04:36 PM

With the BC10, how many hours aprox. can you get for
1) Normal use?
2) Taking photos?
3) Recording audio?

ClieNut 07-15-2003 08:40 PM

There are two Maha models. One is 777 and the other one is 777-Plus. which one is the right one. the Plus one is amost double the price of 777.

My PEGA-BC10 isn't worth much to me now that I don't have a NZ90 anymore. e-mail me if you want it.

update: sold it, thanks.

Unregistered 07-18-2003 06:28 PM

I just received the PEGA-BC10 Battery Adapter from Sonystyle.ca and work PERFECTLY with my Clie NZ90.

JerryAllen 07-23-2003 02:19 PM

The "battery extender" on EBay is perfect ... the connector fits perfect ... it perfectly charges the NZ battery ... and it perfectly provides all kinds of power to the NZ on its own. The camera and flash will never run the battery down with this thing hooked to the NZ. I have had mine for two months ... use it all the time ... and could not be more satisifed ... and all for $8.95 plus postage. Buy one ... NOW ... and be happy. Cheers ... :-)

Jerry

mkpc 07-23-2003 07:15 PM

"Ditto" what Jerry said - I couldn't be happier with my battery extender.  Bought it on e-bay for 8.95 plus S/H.  I never worry about running out of battery power now.

IMHO

greg elmassian 07-23-2003 07:50 PM

get the 777 plus... it is nicer, has readout on length of charge, amount of ma "charged", etc... I have both...
