By the way, is anybody interested in whole-card encryption? I could try to implement that (it actually should be easier and faster). Especially if someone had a small SD card to donate to the project (16-64mb; why small? because then the testing will be faster).

I have a 128MB card lying in a drawer, but that's the smallest I have. I'm willing to test on that if you want. I am not likely to be interested in full card encryption for myself, though.

With version 0.23, the Patience Revisited icon shows in color. The application starts and displays the game selection menu. When I then tried to raise the DIA, my TX crashed. Crash Pro shows the crash in Patience 5.1.1. Enul68KMain.c, Line:438, line 1010 exception at address 00D00F4E.

If I try to select a game from the menu, instead of raising the DIA, my TX freezes altogether with the screen faded as if every other line on a rasterized screen is missing. A pin reset was needed to recover.

Do you want me to continue this test? As I have said, I don't know why someone would want to encrypt a game. I guess if you provide for encrypting the whole card, this would be an issue. You'd want to run anything from an encypted card you would on a nonencrypted one. Wouldn't you?

One more thing, I deleted my current drive and when I created a new one it didn't ask me for a password. I had to delete the prefs in order to get it to ask me after creation.

Anyway, the banding is still there and is worse than before.

Something funny came up.
I don't know if it DriveCrypt related, but when I did a warm reset with DC enabled, the palm started the seyp procedure as is a had done a hard reset.
It didn't actually hard reset itself, it just reinstalled all the removed stuff and went through the setup procedure.

Could you check if it's there if you have a volume with no encryption (press OK on password dialog)? Thanks!

I did not find any problems using the encrypted volume with Card Reader (v.1.05p10).
(May be an alternative to Card Export.)

Where do you see the error message?

alt236 05-22-2007 10:22 AM

@Pruss

There was no encryption enabled this time.

I have a 16MB Panasonic card, that came with my old Digital camera, that I actually had my hand on this morning.

The encrypted drive seems to work properly to store documents (text, Word, and Excel, viewed with D2G). I've also been able to display jpg and bmp images stored on it without trouble, although I haven't been able to use the default Media program to do so. I haven't discovered a way to find the ecrypted drive in that application. GrxView Lt does work, though.

I found a 16Mb card in a camera box, it that helps. I don't use Card Export and the like, so transferring documents to a fully encrypted drive might be a challenge for me, though.

Is there a possibility of being able to use a card reader to open and manage an encyrpted card? There would have to be a password routine somehow, I guess.

pruss 05-22-2007 09:21 PM

I posted 0.24. No bug fixes, just a bit more convenient: No password prompt on insertion for unencrypted volumes, and you don't need to turn off CryptDrive before deleting a volume.

The bugs mystify me and I can't duplicate them as yet. What size of volume is being used? I do most of my testing with very small volumes, 1-4 mb.
