Eat your heart out MacOS AND Vista :P :P :P

Hah, if that doesnt make people drool, they are fan boys. True accelerated desktop, along with true transparencies, fading menus, drop shadows. All controllable, all free. Linux > *

:) Thought you guys would like that.

SoS 03-09-2006 04:26 PM

errrr, what's your point??

dragonsgames 03-16-2006 04:07 PM

I don't like that at all, actually... :o

bh77a 03-16-2006 08:32 PM

Very slick!

spygrad2003 03-17-2006 06:03 AM

it's very square... besides the transparency, it looks old.

T-Man 03-23-2006 12:13 PM

I like it. Though its got that old Windows beige-window color, it looks pretty nice. I like some of the Linuxes, and thought about installing Ubuntu on my Mac, but it doesnt have the HDD space for another OS right now…

I guess it must be the first time this guy say linux. Many n00bs are impressed with the transparencies the first time they see them.

Can't this whole look be done with Litestep? I remember using Litestep for quite some time during my Windows9x days. Sorry Robyr, aside from the transparency, the whole thing is old news to me ;)

ntw1103 03-25-2006 08:21 AM

It can be done with black Box, all but the transparencies. I had it set up, but found it too slow to use for anything more than fun. check out my screen shot. http://www.1src.com/forums/showthre...42&page=1&pp=15
can linux do 3D? :D

p.s. I am sure that it can.

Robyr 03-25-2006 09:00 PM

For the people who ***** about it looking old: its called minimalist. Also, no, i have used linux for ~7 years. And no, pretty much nothing other than linux can do a true accelerated desktop like that. Linux did this before MacOS, and, for the record. LiteStep can NOT do any of that LMAO.

PocketPowerPC 03-27-2006 05:37 PM

Interesting finger print issue though ;) got a link to that?

Robyr 03-27-2006 08:09 PM

Not at the moment. but ill look up the logs.

JAmerican 03-27-2006 08:45 PM

Umm, my Windows XP can do that as well and much better than that ;) :p

And yours is not NVidia Desktop. Mine just looks more complex :). The multitude of things going on is to show off the transparency effect through Nvidia Desktop and Windows. :) You can't just show a few little things and saw you have the best transparency ever. I've shown off my transparency way more than you have. Step up your game :)
