Cliesource was well known for its active forum discussions about Sony Clie-related topics. As the new PalmOne devices were introduced, a new site called PalmOneCity spun off and offered the same discussion format that made Cliesource popular. This move was an easy and welcome transition for those who switched from Sony to PalmOne devices and were looking for a "Cliesource community." Various developers readily supported Cliesource and PalmOneCity as the sites grew through the years. These developers offered contest prizes, special discounts, freebies, beta testing opportunities, and news about their respective products.
Now that Sony has announced its reevaluation of the Clie line of PDAs, Reggie Suplido, founder of Cliesource and PalmOneCity has this to say. "It wasn't easy hearing the news. ClieSource has evolved to form a real tight Clie community. Its forums has been its main strength, with members sharing their unique experiences as well as disappoinments but all-together helping one another understand their Clies better. As we transition to bring the members of ClieSource and PalmOneCity together, and as we introduce new forums to cater to other PalmOS handheld brands, we envision that old and new members will bond and share their common experiences and discuss these as one."
"It does not mean that Cliesource and PalmOneCity have died. It just means that we're combining both communities to basically share their experiences and expertise with one another. This is actually what Cliesource was originally, only that we've learned, grown, and met lots of friends who supported us through the years. We just want to offer one source of news and topics for discussion... and here it is." added Joel Suplido, co-founder.
Cliesource and PalmOneCity is being run by Reggie and Joel Suplido, brothers who share the same interests in PDAs and gadgets. Reggie is based in West Virginia and manages the site. Joel is based in Guam. Along with them is a dedicated team of moderators and staff:
