I'll receive my E2 in a few days. I've ordered a 512mB SD-card with it. I wonder which things are better to be put in the card or in the integrated memory. For instance, Zlauncher, games, apps, ...etc.

And.. is it slower to load stuff from card?

Firstly yes things load a bit slower from card, but nothing special. What I did is to put all applications that you use every day in RAM or FlashROM so you can access them fast and keep their database (not in flash) synced and backedup: Agendus, Facer, etc.
Games I just install them to card, all of them! I can just delete them whenever I want...
I put to card only those applications that I don't use that much... ot that have large files, like dictionairies, Planners, Map applications... that way I keep RAM short so I can sync and backup fast.
With good Palms like E2 with strong pocessors and a fast card you just notice a second difference when loading the application...

Apps that:
x)Sync
x)Do alarms or other periodic activity
x)Receive files that are beamed
x)Are called from other apps(web browser,...)
x)Modify system functions

Usually dont work from an SD card!

...although if you have ZLauncher, LauncherX, etc., you can put apps and databases on the card and create "shortcuts" which WILL allow apps and data on the card to be HotSynced.

Keep about 8 meg of your internal ram available for browsing if you plan on using wifi. Also, try apps on the SD card first. That way any orphaned files are left on it. They are easier to delete from the card than from the system. The first app you should install is FileZ.

johnling,

I won't be using wifi heavily.. well, you can say, I nearly won't at all. There ain't many servers here.

By the way, Is FileZ better than Zlauncher's file manager? and does it have the ability to hide folders/files?

I'd be thankful if you gave me input about that..
