Bits 'n Bolts released the updated NetChaser v1.6 (http://www.bitsnbolts.com/netchaser.php). It works great on my TX. :D
Cheers.

aye! that it does. Most excellent! That was the last piece of registered software that I care about. My TX is now complete to where the T3 was, and then some. Now... on to find that new piece of software I cannot live without :)

Hi
Can someone "sell" netchaser to me? Why should I buy it over the inbuilt network scanner, i know it's quite inexpensive but seems pointless. What does it do extra apart from display things like mac addresses etc?
Thanks!

may as well copy from my post at brighthand :)
Net chaser does a couple things. First, in scan mode, it is constantly scanning. So while you are walking/driving/whatever, it will find new APs. you can also set it to alert you when it finds one.
From the list, you can simply click on one of the ones it found, and it will attempt to connect to it, and open the application of your choice (blazer, etc).
Finally, you can store lists of APs, export them, etc.
For fun, it can also now interface with a BlueTooth GPS incase you want to find that AP again
above all, it's just kind of fun

Is this build working for everyone? Perhaps I just don't know how to use it with built in wifi (I used it with my T3+wifi card with good results).
If wifi is off it doesn't offer to turn it on (like it did with the wifi card). When its on, it doesn't seem to find anything until I connect to my wifi network, and it will only then detect the network (which kind of defeats the purpose :) ). Does it work for others when you are not connected to any wifi network?

make sure you have v1.6. 1.52 will not work, or will do things like you describe. The new version is working perfectly for me. Another way to tell if you have the new version or not is see if it has any of the bluetooth GPS stuff in it.

on the downloads page it advertises 1.6, but in the download box ("at a glance") it is the "latest version" 1.52. I downloaded this one and left it scanning, i went to a friends house and it never picked up the network until i scanned with the inbuilt software.
In the "about..." it does say 1.6 though.
Also, when I click on a network when it's set to launch an app (blazer) I get "error adding profile to system" anyone know what thats about? I'm new to Palm, am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

interestingly enough, even though it said 1.52 at the edge, I downloaded the .prc file, and it is 1.6. I don't know if the zip also contains 1.6 or not.

Yes, I have 1.6 installed.
@xsnrg
So are you saying that 1.6 will offer to turn your wifi on, and will scan and find access points when you are not connected to any wifi network? If that is the case, I guess I need to send another email....

WiFi Where?
What can I say. This particular software in my opinion is junk. I have owned it for about a month now and it never has worked right. I never did receive any response to my tech support e-mail either. I did however receive an email from the developer after I posted a negative review on Palmgear. It may someday be a great program but as of now it does not function.

WildCelt, yes, I can go from a palm TX that is turned off, turn the palm on, hit the netchaser icon, and I'm scanning. BTW, while scanning, it appears to do so by turning the wifi engine on and off rapidly, and the wifi icon is in fact NOT on while the scan is happening.

The version 1.22 now available on PalmGear works fine with the TX now. And the developer has always been very responsive to my questions. Again a proof that YMMV.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I have some troubleshooting to do!
