I have a T615 and am thinking of upgrading. I want something small to fit in my pocket. The T665 is $269.00 at ecost.com with free shipping. Should I go for it or wait for some of the new lineup coming out? I would gain a better screen, 66mhz. and mp3. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you can wait a few weeks. Something else new is bound to come out meaning the price of the T665 will drop even more.

I agree, you can wait for the price, but the T665 is a very good deal. I have it, i love it.

The T665C is still (even though it is being discontinued) the best PDA out there when you balance form factor (size), price, and features. I have had mine about two months and absolutely love it (my prior PDA was a Visor Prism). Other PDAs, Sony included, have more gadgets, etc. but this baby fits in my pants pocket nicely. That makes all the difference in the world to me.
Waiting, as has been suggested, might be a gamble. The remaining inventory of T665s will probably sell out fast. You might be disappointed in the new offerings and it be too late to find a new T665. Something to think about. :)

I don't like to gamble, thats why I might go for it very soon. As you say wellsgs, I like the fact that it fits in my pocket (my 615 and also a 665) and does everything I want it to. Do I really need any new bells or whistles? At $269.00, thats less than what I paid for my T615! Ahh, what to do, what to do.....

665 is a great deal, and there will always be something better in a month or two. Ask yourself this: Since your 615 still (probably) works, is it worth $269.00 for MP3 capability, double the processor speed, and a slightly better screen? The screen difference isn't that noticable, nor is the speed. And you could get quite an awesome MP3 player for $269.00 that would have a much longer battery life. 665c battery life playing MP3s with screen off lasted my friend 2 hours. Also, you might want to play with one first. The jog dial is a little different, and I actually prefer te 615's jog dial to the 665.
The only way I can cost justify a 665c is if my 615 breaks (and it fell from my wife's lap in the van two days ago onto the solid ground, a 4 foot drop -- no damage).

I'm with Jason here. Besides, my point wasn't that you'd get a new Clie when one comes out but more that the T665 would drop even more in price. It's not really worth it right now as the difference between that and the T615 is nothing really. Get a separate MP3 player (Sony of course) and show off with some fancy interconectivity or something. If you wait you'll be a lot happier.

Good list of differences. I believe one significant one is missing that TankerBob has pointed out several times, and that's the significant increase in MS access speed. He provided the specs on it.
I agree with the MP3 comment. When I bought my T665, I considered that feature a moot point, but I find myself using and loving it a lot.
With Koss's "The Plug" ear buds, it's like the music is coming out of your head. Can't even feel the plugs in your ears. I've been sick the last couple of days and really enjoyed laying in bed/sleeping listening to my music. With The Plugs, you can lie on your ear even and they are comfortable. Guess I kinda got off topic. :o ;)

I overclock my T615 to 55 MHz and it is rock solid. The biggest advantage of the increase in CPU was the MS access. I really doubt in general use if the T655 speed is really noticable over a 55MHz T615.
The MP3 capabilities and the better screen may be worthwhile, however.
You can always sell the T615 on ebay, if it's in good shape.
