After succesfully Hotsyncing the new TX with my iBook, I tried to install the Palm Desktop app that comes with the CD.

It gave me a very vaguee error message telling me it couldn;t install because of an application error.

I have already used the PalmOne permission fixer, removed all files and folders related to palm, created a new user account on my iBook, tried to manually repair the correct permissions (altered by iSync) in the Library/Application support/Palm Hotsync folder. I have even tried to install any other version of palm desktop, but with no success.

What should I do???

Try downloading the lastest version of Palm Desktop at their website.

What version of OS X are you running? Early versions of Panther and Tiger had issues with permissions settings on the Palm desktop install app (Apple and Palm both pointed the finger at the other), causing the Installer to quit mid install.

You had to upgrade to later revisions to avoid it.
