View Full Version : Audio quality on Ipod vs. Palm T5
I have an Ipod mini and a Tungsten T5. I use em both for mp3 playback. The ipod gets used for exercise/workouts while the T5 gets used for everything else.
I have to say the T5 sounds way better in audio quality. I use the same mp3's and headphones on both devices and the T5 is more crisp and clearer. In fact, its the original earphones for my ipod mini that I use for both devices.
Any comments on this?

well, yeah, true ;)... excluding that i have no exprience about those device's audio quality :D however there was old (my posted) thread where was about th55's audio quality and there we did compare it's quality to ipod's like you to t5's. So it could be true that usual mp3 players aren't still in so high in audio quality as our pdas ;)
however i don't know does it matter much because I have feeling that you can't notice ipod's worser audio quality for example on the subway :p
but aa.. i don't have other comments :)

What are you playing it with?
On my Zodiac, Pocket Tunes sounds horrible, while TCPMP and the built-in music player fare much better. However, my T665's hardware MP3 playback is still better, followed by my TH55's.
Curiously, Pocket Tunes sounds better on my TH55 than the Zod.
The channel is definitely a lot cleaner on the TH55 than on the Zod (i.e. a lot less low-level hiss).
The iPod isn't fantastic quality, but it's pretty good. I'd be interested to know what you were playing MP3s on the Palm with too.
I've known people to say one thing sounded better than another, but it turned outt he better-sounding thing was merely louder and/or had some EQ/boost enabled. When it was quietened/disabled it sounded the same/worse!
