well, HP RX3115 broke the other day, I think I am gonna go back to Palm (my previous unit was a Sony SL10 which I am using again now). The Tungsten E2 seems to fit in my price range (around or under 200 CAN on ebay). I am just wondering if the processor will be enough. I liked to use the RX3115 (on top of PIM functions ofcourse, which I am sure the E2 will be able to do) for listening to music, and watching movies occasionally. I know the screen isn't as large on the E2, but is the processor fast enough to watch DivX movies? Also how is surfing with the Wifi card? would the speed be similiar to the RX3115?
also, with Palm Warrentees, do they apply if I purchase the product from someone on ebay, still sealed in the box (thus not registered or whatever)? or does it have to be from an official retailer?
thanks for the input..

You might as well get a TX. It has the built in the wi-fi (you would have to buy an add in card for the E2), will be able to everything you need to do for PIM stuff, video playback will tons better than the E2, bigger screen, more ram. That extra $50 will get you a whole lot more in performance and features. I'm a T5 owner and I love it. TX is the same thing but underclocked to 312 mhz, built-in wifi, and half the memory (128 megs is still plenty for apps, mp3's, and photos).
My sister has the E2. Its great for PIM stuff but anything else it feels slow. I can play bejeweled 2 smoothly on my T5 where on her E2 it was sluggish. Im skeptical about video playback. If the device can't handle at least 320x240 playback @29.97fps for video, then I dont wanna watch it. I dont think you'll get that kind of preformance out of the E2. It didnt even overclock that well when I was tinkering around with it.

palm will not honor the warranty, should the unit be bought from eBay as its considered second hand!!!

"E" stands for economy. Get the TX.

Well, if you dont tell them, they will....
Anyways, I have a TE2 for just a day and can ell you that Quake dosnt run(bad). However, I beleive that playing encoded Videos should work, MP3 and Ogg will work for sure as I already had that working on a Tungsten T which is slower!
BTW, the TX is 100$ more. Think about it, man!
