I've got a couple of IIIxe's and an m105 that I play with every once in awhile.
WOW, it takes quite some time to sync using serial. Especually after the batterys drain and I have to do a complete restore.
Has anyone tried to sync a serial palm using a usb to serial cable? Is it any faster? Would I be waisting my money if I bought a usb to serial cable?

Waste of money. There isn't any speed-up because the palm can't sync any faster of the serial connection. Also, most end up being slower because you are adding another driver later for the USB. The only reason you would need the USB is if you don't have a serial port.

I agree ... I purchased the USB adapter back in the day for one of my older palms, no difference at all. It wasnt slower, but definately wasnt faster. Kind of similar to what happens with a USB adapter for serial printer.
