BackupMan works fine so long as you do not have TextPlus installed. You may have other apps and hacks that could benefit from Resco Lock.

UniCMD always seems to cause a reset on my T|E2. I wish I knew why. I've also seen problem with other backup programs as well.

You have a third party application that needs to be locked on NVFS device (or rewritten by developer) in order for backups to work. Since I do not know what you have installed, I am unable to identify it.

Have you contacted bitsnbolts (the developer)? He probably has a list of apps which are causing problems.

Dick Tracy,

I can post a list of my apps, but it's pretty long. I'll search around and see if I can find a list of compatable software first and then if I can't find anything I'll post. I'm considering cleaning out my palm and staring over, but that takes quite a bit of time.

Actually I found the T5 compability list, but does anyone know if there is list of apps that should be locked into memory with Rescolock or some other lock util?

i found that the program that keeps reseting my te2 on backup is the netfontlib.prc, which is required by web for viewing html files or for surfing the web.

Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with netfontlib.prc when backing up their TE2 or other NFS devices.

Backup Buddy Pro works great for me on my E2 and Zire 31 and 72. I have not had a problem yet with backup or restore.

Here is something I do that I believe keeps all my Palm running as fast as possible. Once a week I do a hard reset and then restore. I copy the SD cards to my hard drive, format them and copy back. There are no defreg programs that run on Palm OS so in an attempt to get all the performance I can I do this. To me it seems to help.

Rescoe Backup has consistantly worked for me on my T3. I tried all of the others before buying RB. The main reason I'm so fond of RB is the fact that it was the only one that consistantly returned my palm to it's exact state. None of the others took care of all the little details like RB does.

UniCmd is a great file manager but the backups seem to take a really long time when compared to RB (< 3 minutes). But then again, UniCmd is free.
