If you're in love with Clie Organizer, but you think it's time to upgrade...

That looks pretty cool. I've never really used CO much for anything, and frankly don't understand what's so great about it (not to be too blunt, but I haven't seen the light.)
Datebook: I like the standard Palm Weekly view better with the appt time bars than the CO weekly view.
Address: I use Tap Dialing, which CO doesn't let you do. . .never figured this one out--why not? Also, I think the navigation is easier with the Palm Address book (although to be fair, I could get used to either one here.)
FreeNotes: Just never use them. And to bring up stickers, FN, and pics to put into the Datebook just seems to take a long time to pull up (not sure if that's because of the 123mhz processor or not--this might improve I'm sure if you could run CO on a machine with 312 mhz.)
Reference: For me, completely worthless. Somebody might have a job or something to take advantage of that stuff, but not me.
Apps: Actually this one's not bad, especially with the shortcuts. . .but then again, shortcuts are on the Clie Launcher view (which makes me like it better than the standard Palm view.)
And again, I'm not bashing the software, I just don't think I've figured out how to take advantage of it. My 2 biggest problems are the lack of tap dialing in Address, and the fact that navigating it just seems to take longer than the Clie Launcher.
Am I just completely missing something I should have been taking advantage of this whole time?

I like the week view of CO Better than the palm because I don't want to see blocks and then click on items to see what they are. I want an one glance reveals all info :).

Address book is what palm is, plain and simple. For me, if it works, I like it, if it can look good too, even better :D. Tap dialing isn't on TH because I think it wasn't made to be thought of being paired with a phone, TH55U shows that since it doesn't have bluetooth.

I love the freenotes and how it can be intergrated within the appointments. For example can make an meeting with a client bout graphic design and then on the freenote, could put a couple of images on that note showin the clients some ideas, if they don't like it, mark out the image with an x and if they do like it, circle it :).

I agree bout reference, only thing useful is the holiday reference ^_^, I don't use it too much :(.

Apps is a pretty decent application launcher. Nothing fancy so thats why I don't use it too much. I simply like to have a nice, eye catchin launcher so Zlauncher works good ^_^.

Overall, I do love CO because of the all in one it can do and that it tries to be more like a paper organizer replacement, which I love. You can see that with the tab like interface and the digital ink too. If for some reason something got canceled, I can X it out or if something it important, I would circle it and put ! around it. If there would be a way to get CO on the TX, I would jump all over that :D

I never liked CO.
In fact I use very little of the internal Clie stuff. Instead I use ZLauncher, Palm's PIM apps, and Graffiti 1.
I own a copy of DateBook5, but removed it because it was way more than I needed.
However most of my problems with CO were related to the TH55's limited horsepower, so maybe on a stronger PDA like the TX or T5 it would be workable.

CO on TH works great 4 me! I have owned many Palms+Cliés. Its the only handheld for which I have not used a custom PIM nor launcher.

I have to agree.
On my main TH, I decided to do a clean install of all of my main apps used on my backup TH, but NOT zLauncher.
It's taken awhile, but I've actually gotten quite used to CO. Both GUI's have their pluses and minuses. I really do like both, but, one less layer of interface mean more stability for me.

Not me! I'm an Agendus Pro . . . pry this app from my cold dead hands . . . kinda person! :D
Not sure why the title: "Perfect PDA for some?" when you're discussing CO, unless your intent is that CO would make a Palm PDA perfect? Looks like folks missed the underlying intent of the thumbnail. CO on a Palm? Now if I could just free up the space CO is taking in my RAM on my Clie, I'd be quite happy! ;)

Well, we haven't heard back from the original poster, but I thought the intended message was that he thought CO on a T|X would make the *perfect* PDA ???

No, not for me. I hate CO. I don't care for the buttons being in the back either. And I don't like the fact that I have to have the stupid screen cover up all the time. If the TX had a camera, it would be *my* perfect PDA. As it stands, I'm looking into a BT cameraphone/TX combo.
I just thought if someone was like me, but they were too in love with CO, but they wanted front buttons and a faster processor.......
Actually, I just happened to notice that the TX "photo" on Palm's site was sized exactly for a 160x240 screen, so it was easy to paste anything on there.

The TX will be perfect machine when my TH bites the big one >_<

There are screws to take off the cover if you don't like it,buttons on back enable usage w/ one hand free (I don't mean 4 surfing porn sites ;), and the processor speed is a trade-off w/ batt life, which is very good on TH.

I know. First of all, you don't need screws to take off the screen cover... I went without it for a while before I realized that was the cause of my "spokes." And I've never had a problem using a 5-way nav with one hand. I understand the concept of the back buttons, and I kinda liked them at first, but now I just want a 5-way nav. And my TH does a Wi-Fi sync through QuickNews to download podcasts every morning, so I have to charge it nightly anyway. As long as the battery'll get me through the day, I'm fine.
This thread took a turn, eh?

If my trustyTH breaks down :( & I don't replace it w/ another used one, I'd most likely get a T|X. It looks pretty sweet. It would be great if Palm were to get the CO code from Sony to adapt to Palms! (btw, does anyone know the fate of CO code?) & include Decuma + Picsel Viewer. I agree its too bad there's no camera in the T|X. Is there a co-processor for sound? How does sound quality compare w/ the TH? Can you listen to MP3's while using other apps?

btw, does the T|X have a Flash player?
KewlCat

If by "Flash" you mean Macromedia Flash, then the answer is "no".
At least, someone was looking for one in one of the topics I read this week, and knowing that Macromedia never released anything else than a single Clié version of a Flash 5 player..........

I never could get the thing to play any Flash files I wanted it to anyway.

Yeah, it only supports Flash 5 properly, but most Flash these days uses Flash6 or higher, even 'tho they don't use any Flash 6 features :(

The sound quality for the TX is loud but couldn't finish playin a music battery test because everytime around hour and half into the test, it just resets itself >_<. This is unforgiveable for me because I like to listen that long when usually out walk/joggin.

I hated CO on my UX (w/ Portrait). It was just too much of a hassle with applying the post-its to the Datebook. It was really annoying.

Is the chat not connected to an IRC server?!
I thought the Flash was just a front-end!

I've never cared for CO, and after a year of DB5 I'm now an Agendus Pro user. I really like the buttons on the back, I find them much more useful than the front buttons. I got used to the side buttons on the Handera 330 before I had the TH. I find the front buttons cumbersome for one-handed use. Side or back buttons are much more ergonomic since that's where your fingers are.
