I know that this is in the wrong forum, but I have also posted this thread in the Z-series forum but expect that more knowledgeable members may have an answer for this one.

I convinced a colleague to buy her first palm, a Z22. She was using the Palm Desktop but never had the handheld component. When she installed the Palm Desktop that comes with the Z22, the Palm Desktop font shrunk about three sizes and the entries are difficult to read.

Anyone know if there are any font settings in the Palm Desktop to solve this problem or should she reload the old software?

Does her Windows User have Administrator privelege and has she installed SP4 (a minimum requirement for Win2000 according to Z22 spec sheet)? Were there any applications running when she performed the install? Has she configured her monitor differently than standard resolution?

The most recent patch for Windows 2000 is installed automatically by our systems administrator. She never changed the resolution on the monitor.

I believe that there were other applications running when she installed the PalmDesktop but how is this relevant?

Just tll her to make a backup of her Palm user account folder, and then uninstall the Palm Desktop completely, erase the Palm folder (AFTER making the backup, of course), and then to reinstall everything without any programs running in the background. Then she can just put the old user info folder back in the palm folder, and create a new user with the same name. Should work fine then.

Unfortunately, the new Palm Desktop fonts (4.14 and 4.2) are simply too small on high res displays. Palm Web site says they are working on a fix, but they've been saying that a long time.
