Hi,
thanks for all tips so far. I am little confused what is the best movies player, the one that came with th55 seems to allow full screen and landscape I am not sure what else one needs. Was this always the case. I seem to be led by other posts that this is not the best player. Any opionions would be appreciated. thanks again

TCPMP is the best. The builtin player is alright IF you want to have the controls visible. With TCPMP you can have the full screen dedicated to watchin your videos ^^.

Wasnīt there some small app that ran the clie movie app but fullscreen and was not so picky about the file names (actually I think one of the 1src guys wrote it)? I am actually looking for it as TCPMP is a bit too bulky for my limited movie usage (and I am happy with the ClieAudio player).

Check the other threads - the "best" player is often debated.
The builtin movie player is pretty good. It uses the DSP, so has better battery life than 3rd party players.
My FullMoviePlayer will get rid of the controls when playing (also uses the DSP)

These support the official CLIE formats only (MQV movies, or newer MP4 if you install codecs) - usually converted with ImageConverter (1.x for MQV or 2.0 for MP4)
Third party movie players support more movie formats -- they have their own codecs. MMPlayer is an older player. TCPMP is newer and recommended for playing other formats.
IMHO: if you are using MQV or MP4 formats, use the Sony codecs - and either the built-in player or FullMoviePlayer.
If you don't want to take the time to play converted videos, try TCPMP.
