T|X won't perform hard reset

I just purchased a T|X (my Zire 72 was stolen by someone who burglarized my church). I tried simply hot syncing to my old Zire 72 profile without installing any of the new software. About half-way through the hot-sync it failed and did a soft reset. Tried hot syncing again and had the same problem.

So, I tried to do a hard reset to start from scratch and I can't get this thing to hard reset! I press the power button, hold in the reset button and nothing happens - just a blank screen.

I'm about to return it to best buy if I can't find a way to reset the thing and start over.

After you release the reset button, continue to hold the power button until you see the old, black-and-white Palm logo (not the new orange logo). Once the old logo is visible, release the power button and you should get a screen instructing you to hit the top of the D-Pad to do the hard reset.

Thanks. The way I read the instructions on the palm site it seemed that you had to keep holding both the power and the reset buttons (which is truly awkward :eek: ) - but when you do that nothing ever happens. I appreciate the assistance.
