Sonic stage records ATRAC and WMA files. However, according to the instructions, one can only transfer MP3 files on to the regular memory stick. So how am I supposed to transfer my music into the TG50

Also, is it only possible to transfer songs through USB connection?

ok.
For regular memory stick, you cannot use ATRAC3 media. Therefore to transfer ur mp3 into the TG-50, u need to go to ur MS import and then drag and drop ur mp3 into this folder /palm/programs/msaudio folder under your memory stick.

Alan

I am so dissapointed. The problem is I do nto have a way to convert files into MP3 format. Plus I am also dissapointed because it seems the only way I will be able to tranfer music files to the TG50 will be through USB. That defeats the purpose of having bluetooth.

I would suggest sticking to USB to transfer your music files. Bluetooth was never meant nor designed as a file transfer protocol specifically. It was created to enable short-range communication between devices without requiring line-of-sight. Usually such communication doesn't require megs of data to pass.

Trust me, sending a few megs of music with Bluetooth is like getting off your bike and walking to your destination. (Getting out of your car and walking would be IR.)

I just can't believe Sony would ship the TG50 with an application that pretty much will not allow you to create music files for the TG50 unless you buy an Magicgate memory stick. What a scam!!!!

Well, you have to buy a MagicGate for copyright protected media...

Okay, this is where my knowledge becomes hazy. If I have stuff downloaded from <cough>Kazaa</cough> I can just dump that onto a mem stick. But if I have stuff I copied to my hard drive from a CD using say WMP9 with DRM installed I have to use a Magicgate Memstick?

Please do elaborate.

I have the 512mb ms pro.

I rip wav and convert them to MP3 using my pc so that I can listen to my cd's on the tg50 on the road. Never had any problem playing them.

not sure what you guys'gals are talking about.
