I'm a TH55-er considering a T|X. The only mobile browser I've used is Netfront (aside from a little fiddling with Pocket IE). I really love how I can download MPEGs straight to the memory card with Netfront, then play them in TCPMP. I can also download zip files, and unzip them with Sony's file manager. Can you do these things on a T|X?

Edit: (Obviously, I can't unzip files with Sony's file manager on a TX, but I assume there's some other Palm unzipping app.)

I just tried iPanel. I just deleted iPanel. Yuck! Stick with blazer.

iPanel seems to have more configuration flexibility than Blazer, but was only 160x160 resolution! This was enough to stop me even bothering to test anything else. Text was blocky.

Blazer's not be brilliant, but I like it. It came with my T5 and I'm quite happy to continue using it. The only downside is that I will often get a message saying I can't download something (page, image, document) because it's too large, even if there is plenty of memory available. Others have commented on this also.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Tim

I get the same error with Netfront. The biggest I can set the cache is, I believe, 1.5MB, so if the page is bigger than that, I get an error.

WebPro can do 9999KB of Cache!

Itr actually works pretty well, at least V 3.5 does!

wonder if anyone can give a opinion, review on the best browser(in terms of performance and stability for TX?) seems that the blazer bundled with TX didnt receive much good comments.

Blazer. If Netfront could be installed, it may win out, but since it can't, definitely Blazer.

It's not a cache issue or a storage/internal memory issue, it's a stack/dynamic/system memory issue.

The TH55 for instance has about 7MB of stack, of which you might have, say 6MB or so free (On TH55 you can see by clicking the little MS icon in the Status bar and setting Device to Handheld. I love all the little Sonyisms like that ;)), so 6MB minus whatever NetFront uses is the max. page size you can see. With the images and stuff, that actually adds up quite quickly on those larger pages.

Setting Image Quality lower can help quite a lot, but pixilates a lot of images.

With UDMH you can view larger pages, but they also tend to crash the Palm too :P

you most certainly can do this on a TX wtih the new Blazer web browser. There is also a program called HandZipper Lite http://www.handwatch.com (its free) that you can zip and unzip files with. I also recommend Resco Explorer which includes HandZipper Lite http://www.resco.net/palm/explorer/default.asp
