Problem with ZLauncher on the TX

I am using the latest Version V5.31 of Zlauncher on the new Palm TX.
I experience the following problem.
When the device crashes and resets itself for some reason, e.g. there is not enough memory for a specific application, some of the program Icons in all categories are gone. There is no way to get them back, they just disappeared…
The only way to bring them back is to restore the file “ZLauncherDB” from a previous made backup.
The problem does not exist, if I initiate a soft-reset by myself, therefore the problem is hard to reproduce, but it happens again and again.
Whats wrong there?

Ohh don't worry, there are mor e problems as well. Like Icons will randomly duplicate on you at times, yeah the icons do disappear as well and not even show hidden items reveal them. It does happen often so I stopped using ZL.

I find ZL to be reliable and rock-steady on my NX-80. It is an excellent application. Perhaps ZZTECHS needs to make some minor changes to be compatible with PalmOS 5.4 (Garnet). Contact the developer with your concerns and observations.

I agree, ZL has always been stable, its just need to be updated for the TX because ZL is runnin great on TH ^_^.

I signed on with the intention of starting a thread with this experience...
I did a soft reset from within the ZL menu and the device did a hard reset! I'll be waiting before I load ZL on my TX too.

RescoExplorer is another app that makes me nervous. Is it running stable on devices. It's one of those apps that does sooo much it makes me nervous.

Same problems here with ZLauncher 5.31.
If I try to restore ZLauncherDB and refreshed the application icons, the TX crashes.
I hope ZZTechs will release a fixed version soon.

Has anybody contacted ZZTechs about this? They are always very responsive. I'm planning to buy a TX as soon as OfficeDepot gets them in stock, since I get a great discount there through work, but I don't think I could survive long without Zlauncher running stable. Come to think of it, I'll send an email to ZZTechs myself and direct them to this thread. Thanks for the heads up.

I sent them a mail, describing the problem.

Their reply:
Have you synchronized backup file from another device to the TX? If so, please hard reset TX and use a new hotsync name and reinstall all applications one by one.
If no, please delete ZLauncherDB via ZL Manager and see if the problem persist. We will fix the bug in our next upgrade version.
And my answer:
No, I didn't restore a backup from my previous PDA on the TX. I reinstall everything from scratch, including Zlauncher 5.31. I only took the SD card, with the ZL skins, icons and backgrounds stored on it.

Deleting ZLauncherDB doesn't help. Once the icons are sorted back in their categories, the sorting is randomly lost, some icons doubled or tripled, hiddens files displayed, ...

I too have mailed them about this problem and recieved the same generic response. Will see if their quick fix really works.

My TX shipped today, and should be here tomorrow (YesMicro for $268). Hopefully they get this resolved soon.

One thing mentioned in the ZZTech email I got was to delete the ZLauncherDB with ZLauncher Manager. I was using Resco Explorer. I tried it with the ZLauncher Manager two days ago and so far the problem hasn't come back. Before it would happen by the fourth time I turned on the TX or used a few programs. Also you'll need to delete the ZLauncherDB from the folders on your PC, then do a hotsync after you've deleted them from the TX.
