Does anyone have a idea as to what the best way to upgrade would be? :confused: I was going to backup my existing Palm User Directory and then just install the new Palm Software from the CD. I figure that should keep all my conduits and the information I have in the Palm Desktop. (Calendar, Contacts, etc.)
Sound about right? :D
Thanks in advance. :cool:

Do a backup of everything in Palm Dekstop;
Move the backup folder from C:\program files\palmone\(username) to another location
Uninstall your current version of Palm desktop
Install the new version
Use your old sync name (if ya want)
import your old info
enjoy a stable and happy TX :)

You can also copy and paste the PIM folder and paste them in the new username folder and sync. Thats the way I do.
Keep away from the backup folder...

You could make a new user, and beam the data to the TX if it isn't a lot. Then sync with the new username. Good luck :)

Very close to the T5, I doubt there will be any problems. It doesnt even have fat32 like the LD, so I cant imagine problems. I could imagine, however, there being a problem of the backup program just not recognizing the device.

It all sounds SO easy to transfer info, but I went from a Sony UX-50 to a Tungsten E2 and I've STILL not been able to get all of my calendar into the new Tungsten.....
SO......although I would REALLY like to get a TX, I hesitate for fear I'll be up a creek again trying to get all the old T2 info into the TX.
Oh well....
