recently, i have noticed that when i leave my ux50 on the eb40 for a few days (without turning it on) it drains the battery completely, it seems like the eb40 turns on the ux50 somehow and drains the battery but without phsyically turning it on

You do know PDAs use power when not turned on, right? That must be why ;)

True DG. I got a multimeter the other day and noticed that the UX expells .30 volts of power when off and .18 volts when on.

Are you running any schedule backups, alarms, or macros? If so, your device might be turning on and, with the EB40 attached, think it's in the cradle. See if you have the "Stay on in Cradle" option checked in Preferences -> General.

It may be staying on, and eventually discharging both the EB40 and the UX50.

JA, i think actually what you are measuring is the surface current, not actual current use. I doubt its that big a deal

This is ampere what should be measured not voltage.
Anyway - reading similar threads I think UX50s experience
short circuit - maybe due to leaking capacitor or some IC gets faulty ?

I do have used UX50 and in charges in little over 3 hours whereas
manual says it should charge over 4 hours. I put new battery - PowerRun
from HongKong man and the charging time is about the same.
With WiFi on the usage is little over 30 minutes.
Compared to TH55 this is crap.
I will never buy used again.

ahhhhhhhhhh yessss that must be it, stay on cradle was chceked and since the eb40 "charges" the ux50, the ux50 sort of turns on and drains the b attery within days.!!! thanks!

That was my second guess ;)
