I hope someone can help me. I was playing a game on my NR70V, when all of a sudden the screen turned white. I tried shutting it off and then on, didn't work. I did a soft reset, didn't work. I did a warm reset, didn't work. I did a hard reset, didn't work. Whenever I turn it on, the screen's just white. It does play the system sounds however, such as the beeps. Anyone know what's wrong with it, and how can I fix it?

Try to unplug the battery and wait for several hours, so your Clié can "cool down", then plug the battery again. If it does not help or you are not brave enough to open it, then visit your nearest Sony servis centre ...

Disconnecting the battery helped me once in a similar problem. No need to wait for hours, just disconnect and connect.

it's a rarity but it happens. don't forget to contact the game's manufacturer so it doesn't happen again. also make sure there is not conflict with any launchers or modders you may have open.

open up the back, spot the big white block at the bottom, find the wires that attach to it, and find the end w/ a white plug the wires go into, pull it out, battery is disconnected, magic.

you do have to take the backplate off - the access door is utterly worthless and I have no idea why it exists except maybe to be another repairable part. However, taking off the backplate is easy, harmless, impossible to effect the warranty, etc. just remove 7 screws and lift up the backplate.
then disconnect and reconnect the battery

If anyone needs a replacement battery for $50 I have two left over from my escapades in fixing NRs. I've tested both of them, they work great.
