OS Load

A Friend Recently gave me a Symbol PDA Model SPT1842 1D that has OR Rather HAD PamlOS V4.1. The reason I say Had is that the OS is Totaly FUBAR. !st is there a way to reload this thing and 2nd if there is where can I down load a copy of a OS to reload it with. I have the cradel and the serial cable, the unit is also wireless ready. any help would be great. If you can't tell this is my first PALM.

It's been awhile since I've used OS4.1, but here's what I remember:

Try holding the page down button while hitting the reset button. Does anything happen? There should be a flashing square in the upper-left hand corner. I'm not familiar with any Symbol models, so I'm not sure if it has Flash ROM, but it's a start, right?

As for your second question, you may need to buy the OS4.1 upgrade CD from ebay or something. That should solve your problem (I think).
