Memory stick pro question

Does anyone know if current flash card readers will be able to read the new Memory Stick Pro cards? I assume that it would be possible to upgrade the firmware to read them. Specifically, I'm thinking of buying the Sandisk ImageMate 6 in 1 Reader/Writer soon, but would rather wait if there's no possibility it will be able to read MS Pro sticks.

wait... all the ms readers i have cannot read my pro card... why don't you send an email to sandisk, they make pro cards now

Good call. I emailed Sandisk and got the following response:

The ImageMate 6-in-1 reader (SDDR-86) will support the MS Pro with a
firmware update. The firmware is not yet released, but it will be soon. The
firmware updater will be a free download.


The ImageMate USB 2.0 reader for MemoryStick + MemoryStick Pro (SDDR-97)
will support the Memory Stick Pro card right now. The SDDR-97 has been
shipping for a week or two by now. You may be able to find it at a local
retail outlet, or you can purchase it online.
