Is there any palmos player (preferably free) that plays WMV video? Are there any free options for converting wmv to avi or some other format that tcpmp supports? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Nevermind. Looks like I found something that converts for free. http://www.tmpgenc.net
If anyone does know about palmos players that play wmv without converting it first, please let me know. Thanks!

There are no WMV players for Palm OS. You can blame Micro$oft. The best video player for Palm OS is TCPMP. It can do many standards other than WMV.

Actually LIfedrive can convert any wmv and play on the media in lifedrive. Good thing I have lifedrive..now I can convert many wmv files to lifedrive.

I think it converts it before puting on the LD when you hotsync it.

Yeah, and the TH55 could do that a long time before the Life Drive came out :P

(Image Convertor 1.5 can convert from WMV to MQV, the format the TH55's Movie Player uses ;))

I think IC2.0 can do it to, but to MP4's.

IC 2.0 can also convert to MQV format if you still use it

Just a note, TCPMP can play WMV files, but it lacks a WMA decoder, so there is no audio.

You have no control over the quality of the converted file. As far as I can tell it just uses certain presets for the conversion.

Has anyone run across an option/preference panel in LifeDrive manager or HotSynch that let's you have control over changing the settings ? It would be nice to sometimes be able to create a higher quality/larger file or lesser quality/smaller file.
