Does anyone know of any alternative launchers that are wildly popular and highly recommended? I have tried ZLauncher and don't think it's very user friendly.......I had some trouble making it recognize the themes and backdrops that I wanted. I want something with more of a pocket pc or windows platform feel to it..

Facer looks a little like the Today screen on Pocket PCs. I've used it and it's pretty good.

WindowsPE for Palm OS Looks promising if you want some kind of windows deal, but its pretty new and still has many errors and kinks that need to be worked out on it. MANY!
Otherwise it would be exactly that, windows for Palm.
FACER is a nice little program, not really windows looking like WindowsPE but it does come closet of all the current launchers and it does not have the kinks that WindowsPE has at this time. I think it would be a nice choice.

I hope not :)
You could try Go bar. It does not use as much Eye candy as the other launchers but it is worth a try.

No offense intended, but the reason I use a Palm unit is the ease of the OS versus the PocketPC platform. A scaled down version of a clunky desktop OS doesn't make sense to me.
That's just IMHO, of course.

GoBar does not work correctly with OS 4.0 and up.
I used to use GoBar on a Palm IIIx and liked it alot, when I went to a Palm m505 GoBar would crash shortly after trying to use it. The sad part is that Aladdin bought it from its developer, Digivello, but then never really updated it other than to put their name on it, and maybe a few other minor changes.
When I sent an email to Aladdin explaining that I was a registered user and asked when it would work with OS 4.0, I just got a run-around of an answer.

Um... I don't mean to rub the shoe polish off your teeth, but you are typing in circles. I haven't seen this windowspe, but the more I read about it the more it sounds like it really IS windows for the Palm. "errors and kinks" - sounds just like Windows to me...
I think the programmers got it right on with this one... your last line should read:
..it IS exactly that, windows for Palm!

Actually, what they're referring to (Windows PE) was a VERY well done April Fools joke by beiks.com. The errors were SUPPOSED to be there and the comments were funny. It does not damage your Palm or affect your real OS in any way.
