Over the past couple of months there have been a bunch of memory stick recorders that record video for the PSP. (Kinda like PEGA-VR100K) See here (http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news_10298.html) and here (http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000070062111/#comments) for examples.

My question is this: Will this recorded video be viewable on my UX50 or would it require further conversion.

I'm not really into converting movies and stuff on my computer for use on the clie. It's a pain frankly. I want to grab the memory stick and go so I can have my regular TV on MS with out lengthy conversions.

So will either of these work in the UX? I'm happy using TCPMP or the built in Movie Player.

Thanks in advance.

If they record as an MP4 file then TCPMP will be able to play it.

The resolution of the PSP's screen is QVGA.[240x320] So I'm guessing it records along that size. Palm can handle that easily. TCPMP is very flexible so it should run smoothly.

How does one schedule recording or tune a channel with these devices?

With the Clie video recorder, it has buttons on the unit to change channels. to set a timer recording, you program the time and channel onto the memory stick through an included application. Not sure about the psp video recorder, haven't seen one yet. Where is the psp video recorder available? I'd be interested in acquiring one.

I was able to view a video recorded by Hagiwara’s HNT-MDR MemoryStick Duo recorder on TH55. FMP (with MP4 codec) and TCPMP (with AAC codec) are both good.

Hagiwara’s HNT-MDR:

FMP (Full Movie Player by Cliepet):

MP4 codec for FMP:

TCPMP (The Core Pocket Media Player by Picard):

AAC codec is included in TCPMP ver.0.66a:
