Lifedrive security problems

I had a couple of times the following problem:
-Lifedrive won't power up using either power slider or hardware buttons

thus forcing me to soft reset. Even though my data is still intact, I find out that my lifedrive now doesn't have a hotsync name (like its the first time since a hardreset) which creates a very serious security flaw, since it also "deletes" my system password, leaving all my "private" data available.

Has anyone encountered the same problem?

I have some clues of what could be going on:
-I have activated the fast unlock feature (the one using the hard buttons instead of the password)
-I have the automatic lock feature after 3 hrs.
-So I think the problem surfaces when the lifedrive tries to lock itself

Any ideas?

a soft reset....pressing the reset hole in the back does not reset the hotsync name....maybe there was something else wrong even before you needed to do the doft reset...the soft reset did not cause the problem

You are right about the softreset, so I wonder if the problem is the auto lock feature. Maybe the LD crashes when attempting the auto lock...
