I've had this happen a couple places. Once while my T5 was running eReader in scroll mode on the magazine shelf of an exercise bike, and another on the MARTA (Atlanta's rail transit system) near one of the TV monitors. All of a sudden, my T5 starts to have a mind of its own. It will stop scrolling (on the exercise machine) but even more disturbing it starts executing commands, hitting buttons, etc. All very quickly!!! Oddly one of the messages I see on the screen is "keyboard battery" indicator, which is typically triggered when I have the Palm Universal Wireless keyboard running and hit the "battery" key.

It seems to me like there's EM interference from the TV monitor on the train (it's got to have some kind of wireless feed) and from the electronics behind the magazine shelf on the machine.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this on ANY PDA?

Oh - even after a soft reset the problem persists. And it has happened on the bike several times, on the train just once. I moved away from the TV monitor and all was well...

Nope - and I see similar things on my T5.

I'll get a "Please Wait" message - even though it was off and no alarm was even close to coming due.

Today, it turned on and beeped all by itself (it was sitting on the table, out of my hands).

My Tungsten E and Zodiac 1 will sometimes turn themselves back on if I set them near my PC's monitor at home. Usually, making sure Beam Receive is off stops it.

Hmmm...

My beam receive is always off unless I specifically turn it on, so I don't think that's the problem. I wonder if Palm is aware of this.
