first you need to install clie mail from your cd that came with your pda. Once its installed, you also need to install the conduit if you want to sync it with microsoft outlook. Once installed open palm desktop, goto Hotsync at the top then Custom. Click on Clie mail then hit the change button, then choose 1 of the 2 options hit ok and you are good to go. Make sure in outlook that you goto your account settings and specify which account is setup for syncing. Now on your clie open Clie Mail, goto preferences > hotsync options. Now at the bottom you have a choice of how many days you want to sync from, should be 3 by default. That means it will only pull the last 3 days of emails... i set it to 90 days so i basically have all of my emails on my clie. After you choose a day hit ok. If everything is setup right you should be able to just hotsync and it will add all of your mail.

You can do your email with the wireless card or bluetooth to a cell phone, but thats another thing to setup.

I'm embarrassed that i can't make this work! What if I did this and it doesn't work? I checked the hotsync log and it says "OK CLIE Mail" but when I check CLIE Mail all of the folders are empty. Might it have something to do with the fact that I'm using Outlook Express to sync with Hotmail?

Could be, make sure the account is setup to sync with palm desktop.

Ok, so in Clie Mail, I go to the menu and choose Accounts? I don't see where I can set anything up to sync with the Palm desktop.

I think he meant the accounts in Outlook Express. Accounts in Clie Mail would only be applicable if you were wireless. Make sure the Clie Mail conduit is set to synchronize. That can be found by right-clicking the HotSync Icon in the system tray and selecting custom. Look for Clie Mail.

Oh yes, check the options in Clie Mail to make sure it's not checked send only!

Ive been wrestling with this for the past 4 or 5 days.

Ive tried (demo) copies of Clie Mail, Agendus, Agendus Pro, Iambic Mail with: IntelliSync lite (that came with my NX70) Intellisync Pro (trial version) and PocketMirror (from my M505 CD) and nothing seemed to be working.

Tonight I started over again, and I've got it working, more or less. I installed Clie Mail, and then installed the Mail Conduit from the Sony CD. I configured it for Outlook 97 or Higher and the default Outlook profile.

On the handheld, I opened Clie Mail, went to options>HotSync options clicked ALL and changed the "Only transfer messages from the past x days" to 7.

Right clicked on hotsync manager>custom
Click Clie mail, clicked Change, set to synchronize and selected "set this as default"

Hotsynced, and it transferred my email to my handheld, but popped up that GD annoying "something is trying to access your Outlook e-mail addresses" and clicked OK

I was trolling around through here and found a link to ClickYes www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html (http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html) which is a free download and makes the Clie Mail conduit auto-click-yes for you.

I haven't re-installed the trial apps of Iambic or Agendus, but I'll wager they work now, but they require the Clie Mail and Conduit to be installe as well. I'll try it tomorrow at work.
