The press release suggests more WM Treos to come. More money for Palm hopefully will mean they can afford to go back to their roots.

Edit: Combination of M$ and Palm will threaten Nokia and Symbian. I can't see Symbian being acceptable in the US now that M$ has access to Palm device design.

I am still mad, not that mad, but still mad. If Palm stops making Palm PDAs, who will? Palm OS is so much better than any other OS. I can't stand Windows Mobile for 3 min. I tried it at the store. Gross! :p

Palm will probably reformat their new OS whatever, to fit into a 240x240 window, so that they'll only need to manufacture one device.

Let us hope, that if they do make a 700p, it sells better than the 700w, but that's probably whisful thinking on my part.

Ick.. nearly identical hardware except for a 240x240 screen and winmob? I doubt anyone would buy this over a 650.. However, a 480x480 OS 6 Treo 700p with wifi would be killer :p ;)

The Windows Mobile device has the write border. WM devices never have the white border. This must really be a Palm standard.

The new design looks cheaper.. I do not want buttons on a $600 smartphone to remind me of my toothpaste! No, it's all just so silly. If they were smart they would keep the old design, up the RAM, put in EVDO+WiFi, and have a built-in bootloader thing with a special expansion card that gives you a choice of changing from Palm OS to Winmob during a hard reset.
